Difficulty based on the Needle only.
I really enjoyed the visuals in the game, it was one of the highlights of it for me. I wish the attention to visuals also applied in the avoidance, but unfortunately, it seemed to not do so. I stopped playing at the avoidance because in particular I found it to be the weakest part of the game. There are attacks that just felt pretty absurd compared to everything else's difficulty, and a lot of stuff near the end like curving and whatnot that I just did not enjoy. The game really felt special up till then, then afterwards immediately fell apart at the seams for me.

Decent needle with somehow a unique atmosphere. The avoidance is ok too, clearly not the most interesting I have played but is decently fun.

A chill game with nice music and an avoidance to finish this up. A good game to play through.

Whoa. Well, this was... nice!
Something of utmost importance in filmmaking, theater and other audiovisual artforms (music could qualify, but that's a subject for another debate) is the ATMOSPHERE. This is one of the prime examples of fangaming where the atmosphere excels. I even want to create an "atmosphere" tag, but that is very subjective.
I digress. Environment is beautiful and absorbing; visuals are impeccable; gimmicks are well done. Water is a common complaint in my fangame playthroughs because I suck at water, but here, I wish I had stayed forever. It is a short fangame, mind you, but it delivers the goods with the majority of the screens. There is a bubble gimmick featuring giant water bubbles of Water 3 type, making platforming even easier and employed in mostly creative ways.
The first portion of the game is confusing because it has "watery" elements, but the background doesn't suit the theme at all. When you reach that dark blue environment, that's when the game truly begins to shine, and the theme begins to make sense. So atmosphere here was created with visuals, music, sound effects and level design, being the former three stronger than the latter.
There is an avoidance at the end, and for some reason, it peaks the difficulty significantly. Beginners might feel challenged to a point of unfairness. Although most of it is readable, there are instances where you will have to die due to how quickly some attacks spawn, and one attack in particular has very narrow safe spots once you learn them unless your reaction is quick. The song is outstanding, but the unevenness in difficulty between this section and the platforming is something annoying. It ends the game with a decent tone, but not with the best, personally.
Still, I recommend it for beginners looking for a challenge in the avoidance department while chilling with needle and... did I say an absorbing atmosphere?
