Cast a Spell is a solid adventure game encapsulated in a smaller gamespace due to the wacky and indecipherable character system present in the game, something I never managed to figure out the importance of whilst playing. Thankfully it didn't seem to make a difference to the game itself, which is pretty well made.
Each stage feels very adventurey, with wacky hazards such as lava, sawblades, lasers, plants etc. The visuals all look pretty polished and clean, and the boss fights are well thought out (although the first one confused me for a silly reason which hopefully won't happen to others).
There's also a bit of backtracking, where you'll find yourself going back through the stages with a new ability to access somewhere in an earlier stage. This is nice, but the language barrier can sometimes make progression quite confusing especially in regards to your powerups. There's also the aforementioned character select (of sorts) at the bottom which I didn't understand once throughout my playthrough.
Whilst some parts of the game frustrated me a little, I found it to be a well made adventure with some very memorable parts and one puzzle in particular that felt really clever to get through, so all-in-all I had a good time.

This game is pretty solid. It's a trapventure with metroidvania-esque gimmicks which make you backtrack through the game, which is a cool, but sometimes frustrating decision. The quality of the game is variable: everything before the last stage is a solid 8/10, while for me the last stage is a 5/10 and the boss is pretty boring, though the last part is fun enough I guess. It was challenging enough, but most of the difficulty for me comes from language barriers and not knowing what to do. Regardless the game is OK.

Yesterday I got to the end of the third stage and I rated it 8.8,but now I have to change it because the last stage was incredibly bad.As for the platforming,it consists of uninteresting and annoying traps.Maybe the creator thought they were funny but I didn't enjoy them in the slightest. And the boss. It's a really long and patterned boss with great production value. But in the last attack, two Cirno's head chased me everywhere and they just had too much HP,and attacks before that was very easy even you can get through them with your eyes closed. If you want to have a blind race using this game, just ignore the last stage. It's really bad and annoying.
