This game consists of 5 stages, each stage has several needle screens and a boss(except stage 5 which doesn't have boss).
Needle parts:
The difficulty of needle increases from the stage 1 to stage 5. As for s1-4, the design is overall ok so there's nothing more to say. I just have a little complaint about s5, the needle becomes much more harder than formal stages.
Boss parts:
All bosses are based on Touhou, so it's an appeal to me.
Boss 1: All attacks are free to dodge except one. But overall the boss is not hard so it's ok.
Boss 2: The mask of boss is a little small, sometimes it may be difficult to shoot her. Also the water physics is a little weird imo, so it took me much time to beat the boss. But the attacks are fun.
Boss 3: It's a easy meme boss, but you still need some precise moves.
Boss 4(maybe avoidance is more accurate): The highlight of this game. It features the orginal Touhou STG and this is extremely cool! I had much fun with this avoidance. The only issue is that several kinds of bullets' depth are above the player hitbox, which makes it hard to observe.
The games ends after stage 5 needle and apparently it's not finished. Although the possibility is small, I still hope it could be finished :)

Overall a cool game, I really enjoyed the first 2 stages, tho stage 3&4 were less innovative and a bit annoying to play, mainly due to too much 16px needle here and skins being too old-fashioned.
The game features its bosses and yeah they were all well made. But I personally dont enjoy stage 4 boss at all where you play like touhou, I never played touhou and it sucks when you have to relearn the control. The boss itself was def great, you may enjoy it if you dont mind the problem I mentioned.
Edit: 7.0→7.5
I am dumbass and I never played stg before, so I donot know that press shift can switch the movement to idle which significantly make boss4 a lot more fun LOL, tho the game didnt provide any hint about that also not in read me so it still kinda sucks.

Fapple is a needle/boss centric game following a classic formula of stage-boss-stage-boss and so on, generally flicking between standard vanilla'ish needle and into wacky Touhou-style bosses.
The bosses were definitely the highlight for me. They all feel very creative in their attack design, likely referencing existing Touhou bosses but pulling off their respective attacks very well. The stage 4 boss in particular was very flashy and fun to play, utilizing a bullet-hell style of gameplay and some very dazzling effects. There's also a short meme-tier boss amongst all the serious ones which I suppose is a nice change of pace.
I found the platforming to be pretty enjoyable for the most part, although it didn't do anything to stand out and felt far overshadowed by the bosses. There were a couple of bumpy spots difficulty wise although these mainly stuck out in the final stage. A change in needle-style or a new gimmick or just something to distinguish each stage a bit more might've helped the platforming stand out alongside the boss elements of the game, but it was still fairly fun despite being a little forgettable.
Fapple is unfortunately unfinished, so it remains to be seen what the final boss (or bosses) could've been. If you're enticed by the prospect of some well executed Touhou boss fights then you should have a fun time with this.
