This was the first game I made; a needle game consisting of 30 screens utilising a lot of the standard needle gimmicks.

It's drastically different from what I make now, and I've grown to dislike a large portion of the platforming over time. It does have Umineko music though so at least you're safe in that department.

Relatively lengthy needle game that really picks up in difficulty after stage 2. Really nice aesthetic changes inbetween the stages, with the needle not being anything generic or boring. A really good first impression from Wolfie.

The first two stages are good, bordering on great. From there, it steadily deteriorates. The biggest problems are the visuals—specifically, the complete lack of contrast between spikes and background—and randomly over-precise shit thrown into otherwise imprecise saves to force a certain difficulty level. The water stage is also a big problem for the abovementioned reason, as well as how slow each segment plays.

The fifth stage deserves special mention for using a black background and spikes that have black borders. Oh, and the last save has no save in the middle, presumably to make it feel more "epic" but in reality just makes it more annoying to grind because the pacing and flow of the save aren't designed around a longer screen.

Play Witch's Tower instead of this.

For a first game, this is an excellent game. Otherwise, this is just an alright game. The platforming is for the most part enjoyable and feels good to pull off, but as the game progressed and the difficulty ramped up, that feeling of satisfaction started to fall away from the experience. Indeed, the last stage is the least enjoyable one in the game, and the 4th stage is not far behind. There were very few jumps that I was really happy to pull off; for the most part, I wasn't having that good of a time for the duration of the last two stages. There were even a few irritating sections here and there. The game became a grind in a negative way, I'm sad to say.

Perhaps that negative grind experience comes with the fact that the game felt rather disjointed. The only glue to keep each stage together was the stage cards for each and the similar aesthetics. Witch's Needle felt like an under-10 screen needle game stretched over 30 screens, and by the end I was rather tired of the experience.

Just play his later games, honestly. Only recommended if you've gone through Wolfi's games and are desperate for more or if you want to see Wolfi's progression as a fangame maker.

Fun and varied needle game, even if some jumps were slightly questionable. Least favourite area was probably the green/blue stage, due to some saves requiring what seem to be some very tight water manoeuvres with lots of smaller jumps, which wore down on my hands quite a bit. The final stage however is really enjoyable and combines the various gimmicks used in a fun way.
Aesthetic is strong throughout, and music choices are well fitting.

Fun needle with a good level design. It is smartly made by using every needle feature. Dispite its difficultness, i love this game :D
