Quite a lengthy needle game, a good 50+ screens depending on how you count (the game being rather wacky about screen numbering). The difficulty starts out relatively mild and ramps up gradually before more or less levelling off around the halfway point. The second half consists mostly of 5 stages that can be tackled in any order, all centered around some basic gimmicks like jump refreshers or vines.
I don't think the game is ever a gem of needle design, but it is consistently good. It's pretty hard to balance the difficulty for a needle game of this difficulty and length, but aside from the second save in the water stage, nothing really got me stuck for TOO long (speaking in relative terms of course, I am bad at needle and this game took me 45 hours). So I think that's commendable.
The bosses are not much more than a short reprieve from the needle grind. Aside from the much maligned red/white fruit and the final boss, they're all quite easy, and even those two don't come close to being as hard as the platforming.
All in all, if you're up to the challenge, this is a solid choice if you want a tough needle game to sink your teeth into.

I made up my mind about what I think about this game. It's probably one of the highest quality hard needle games out there.

Extremely long and extraordinarily difficult needle game, featuring a (very) healthy dosage of cycles and other more gimmicky platforming to spice things up along the way. Recommended only for highly experienced players who are prepared to handle a wide variety of high level platforming challenges mixed in with raw needle and even a few bosses.
There are a few awful sections here and there (most notably the meaningless apple cycle at the start of floor 20 and the DISGUSTING Pokeball boss) that have the potential to ruin your day, but overall Wonderful managed to design an incredibly difficult game that nonetheless very rarely becomes obnoxious to play. If you're up to the task, Figure won't disappoint.
For a specific bit of criticism: There are a few too many jumps that force specific frame heights than is necessary, the most notable ones being the required max height jump to reach the bottom left path of 3X and the forced 4f/2f later in said path. They kind of kill the flow of the saves they're in and could have been loosened up a bit, given how long saves in this game tend to be.
Also, half of the saves are wuss saves, which means you could actually play this game on Hard or higher and have a different experience... I really don't recommend trying this, and I doubt anyone will ever do so, but if anyone is ever insane enough to clear this game on Hard mode, I wouldn't mind seeing it.

Difficulty is overrated in my opinion. The game was okay.

Considering this game has very few gimmicks throughout, and the ones it does have are a bit simplistic, it's absolutely jaw dropping that this game feels so creative in spite of that. So many unique jumps throughout this game give it a totally distinct feeling which has so much charm and passion that it can be felt throughout each and every save. Now not everything is a hit, there's a handful of annoying jumps and the difficulty balance is all over the place, but these minor negative points are easily offset by a game which radiates such a wonderfully unique atmosphere in both it's gameplay, music, and visuals. A masterpiece, albeit not a perfect one.
