The newest entry in the Series Mixture Relay series. Instead of the usual black outline visuals, here they kinda seem to represent his newer artstyle thats most notably seen in Scribble Notes. Personally I like how they look.

It features 3 regular stages with 2 bosses, but theres an extra stage, complete with an extra boss that can be accessed by entering a password that opens a gateway in the first stage. You get the password after playing to a certain point, then a .txt file will show up in your folder with the password in it.

The first stage is a grassland/cave area with thorns and various enemies that either can fall off the ceiling or be shot and explode into pieces, shoot little balls repeatedly or wear a shield that deflects your shots. I found the last one to be pretty creative since one of the screens uses it for a small segment and I wish that used much more throughout the game, I think it appears once or twice later on. The first "boss" here is a mushroom that shoots small mushrooms at random directions. I wouldn't even call it a boss since it used the regular stage music opposed to other bosses in the game.

The second stage is a factory which has to my favorite stage in the game, excluding the boss. Lots of creativity shown here and things may get hard at times but still acceptable in a kind of way. However, this mechanical eyeball thing at the end of the stage feels way too difficult compared to whats been done earlier on. You can shoot the two little eyeballs that spawn after a while but even then you've gotta deal with the spinning saws that appear at random, and to top it all of the boss shoots a bunch of lasers. I felt like I kinda got lucky at the attempt when I did beat it because of all the crazy dodges I had to do.

Lastly, the third stage has to be some kind of mansion or laboratory? Anyway, the stage mostly consists of screens with blocks that explode and make a chain reaction or mechanical balls with various ways of attacking the player. The boss here references the final bosses from the first four Series Mixture Relay games. Each phase has visuals from earlier stages with the exception of the final phase, which are completely unique.

The last stage features hanging eyeballs that shoot when you jump and some plant blowing wind that makes it harder to see where you are going. In my opinion, this stage kinda felt bland compared to the other ones.

The extra boss is to keep it short an giant clock thing along with a green floating ball that occasionally shoots at you. It has a gimmick attached to it: A red laser that goes down on repeat and freezes you for a few seconds upon contact. The clock can either spawn two circles that start moving after you're able to move again or four lines that come from every side that move once time freezes, requiring you to be in midair once you do so. The less HP the clock has, the more eyes spawn on the ceiling. After you land the final hit on the clock it falls into the ground, you've gotta finish off the green ball while being cautious with the bullets the eyes shoot once you want to jump.

Not one of the best ones in the series but not the worst one either. Consider giving it a go and maybe you'll like it more than what I did.

I really liked the first boss, the second boss was kind of a pain to learn but it was OK.
To be honest, I didn't feel the gameplay too much, there were a few design choices that hampered the experience. Though overall it was pretty fun.

Sixth and last entry in this serie, and I'm honestly not a fan of how it turned out.
Visuals have a smooth style and are very different from what it was before, and I don't dislike it, it fits the new level design of the serie. Stages are fine even if there are many frustrating spots. The real weak point of the game however, is the bosses. None of them is good : the first ones are very uninteresting and feel like miniboss and the boss rush could have been could if only almost all of the boss weren't painful to fight. It has also a "hidden" stage after the fake credits that you can access by typing a password in the first stage, password hidden in a txt that appears when you beat the boss rush. I don't really understand why it's like that but anyway, you don't really want to go to that stage, it's by far the worst in the game, and the final boss is just bad and unfun.
It's not a bad game, but the shift from gimmick needle to adventur-ish wasn't well done for me.

The 6th entry in the Series Mixture Relay series. This features a mix of interesting little gimmicks, a few puzzles segments and a handful of bosses to keep you entertained. There's a fair share of fun stuff in here and although I ended up feeling quite divisive about it, it's still a pretty solid little game.

The strength of the game for me lied in the platforming, which had some fun gimmicks such as a variety of enemies in the first stage which exploded into bullet patterns upon dying. This made for some fun little segments where you had to plan your safespots whilst taking the platforming hazards into account. I also enjoyed the chain reaction explosives in the later stage in combination with the kill-all-the-robot rooms. A couple did get a little frustrating due to the high number of enemies placed, but there weren't many cases of this.

There are a few bosses too, one of which has Carnival's signature style put into the visuals which is nice to see. Having said that, whilst I enjoyed the visual presentation and production I didn't actually have that much fun playing it which was unfortunate. It felt just sort of dull, particularly the mechanical segment where it just swaps sides and aims bullets at you and, that's sort of it until the next segment.

There's also a true final stage which you can access by checking your game directory after beating the game for the password. It's pretty fun platforming-wise, although the boss just felt like a mess despite the interesting time-stop mechanic. I had a hard time getting good at it and made lots of frustrating and silly mistakes, but even putting that aside I just wasn't a big fan of how it played. I'm sure a great deal of people would like it, but this along with the previous boss just really weren't enjoyable for me.

The self-made visuals are nice and there's some fun segments weighed down by some questionable parts, which will probably make it a little divisive. Still, it's a memorable game for sure and more than likely worth a try to see which side you'll go with.
