If you are looking for even *more* challenge from this game, Marc recently created a hard-mode version (less saves and a tweak here or there to go with it) - as the original version wasn't set up properly for hard+ modes.

Second hub stages were way too hard and not a lot of fun either. Rest of the rating comes for because how fantastic everything else is. Way better ideas than what's present in Kermit 2 in my opinion.

Despite being quite old at this point, you can see how inspiring this needle is - full of fresh ideas and brilliant gimmicks. Some of them you can witness only there, some of them get exposition in modern games - like combination of graviswitches+catharsis water in Stop Crying or disappearing djump water in Nebulous Thoughts. Not even mentioning CN3

So yeah, this needle is truly great and classic at this point. Most of the stages feels really great and cool to pull of... with a few exceptions. So in my eyes maker definitely attempt here put a quite high bar in difficulty in comparison to previous games and mostly manage to do it quite well. However, some saves were spoiled with precise jumps imo. It's like maker decided to be stifling and make some saves way too hard for no reason or can't pull off how make difficulty in right way somewhere and just add filler hard jump, and you need to be pray it will be not choke jump this time! Some saves were also quite out of pace with being just filled with tremendous amount of jumps, that are way harder than usual picture in this game - yeah, i'm looking to you right way in second hub

Other than that, needle is pretty much just what you can except if you played Kermit 2 already. It's atmospheric, stylish stages with nice flow. Vibe tho is different from Kermit 2 - Kermit 2 was more on cheerful and fun side, while Kermit 3 has that melancholic, not dark, but slightly depressive tone. Songs were very good for the most part, bringing experience to new horizons of greatness, which is not surprising, because i feel like Wonderful understand importance of factors like music or visuals in needle more than almost every needle maker

In terms of needle highlights for me were: frame-counter stage, dark red stage, snow stage and pretty much entirety of last hub, which has best things in the game by a shot for me - like genius moving water screen or very fun collecting triggers section... or ice timed screen, which was actual banger imo. Last stage was also quite awesome and vibe was really strong there, but i think last save is too grindy, which is kinda ruined flow for me. Not really enjoyed space stage between second and last hubs, and apple stage in first hub was big headache for me because of screen 2, also boss of this stage was kinda bad i'd say. Oh, i almost forgot...

Speaking about bosses. Kermit 2 did great job with bosses, that are diluted pace and bring more fun to game. Kermit 3 did same thing, but stakes are more high - bosses are more diffucult and has more complicated attacks in general. And you know what - that makes them really great for me and i had fun with pretty much every boss. Balance is not great tho, some boss can be hard, and the next one will be very easy, but that was not a big issue. Last boss was banger and i also really like weed frog from last hub

Overall, this game was superb. I beat it blindly in one 10 hours session, and despite me being tired sometimes, this game was that hella addictive to keep me going on, because i just simply wanted more, and i think this speaks pretty straight. It's easy recommendation if you open to something new, that you possibly never seen in any games, and don't mind or scare about diffuculty aspect. For some, walkthrough will be probably flawless, some people like me will find some issues, but i still think at the end it's worthwhile experience, that can bring sweet emotions to many players. For myself - i kinda wanna stand with Kermit 2 more, this game packed more in way i liked and has more value for me, but i would say with confidence - there is definitely days when i will prefer Kermit 3
