Rating includes extra.
The extra stages go on for way too long and don't feel cohesive at all, in stark contrast to the main game, which flows very well and doesn't overstay its welcome. At the end of the main game, I had 286 deaths in 44 minutes; upon completing extra, I had 1435 deaths in 1h58m. When the "extra" is this much longer and more difficult than the main game, I question why it wasn't simply released separately.
Anyway, the main game is a lot of fun, just be aware that you're in for a bit of a commitment if you go on to extra. Some of the extra stages are annoyingly hard too.

Very good needle game. As a lover of ebb needle, the main game satisfies me a lot with only a very few bruh jumps such as one in white stage that really stand out for being really too hard for the game. I also have a problem with the visuals of the stage after the desert one, the tileset is too bright and the fully white bg doesn't help. Extra is guest stages and sadly weaker than the main game, if I have nothing to say about ebb, loli_qc and Athgienin stages (except that the last one is very laggy because of the visuals), that's not the case of the others : zickry is mostly fine but have some annoying jumps here and there, SparkShadow doesn't belong in a game like this and isn't very fun, and cookies is just tedious.
I'm really glad that ebb finally made a longer game, good continuation.

Rating and difficulty do not include the extra stages.
Edit: after clearing the extra, while I did not hate the extra stages, it is long and around 10 points harder than the main game, which also flows better. I'd recommend the main game to beginners and the extra to more experienced players.

This game is awesome. It's almost pure needle with a bit of water; the seven stages get gradually harder, starting at around 40–45 and ending at 50–55. There are a couple saves in later stages that provide a bit of a difficulty spike, which may be offputting to less experienced players. There are very few generic jumps, which is truly a breath of fresh air for easier needle.
I'd recommend this to every needle player.
