The last stage has some terrible balancing issues that significantly affected my enjoyment of the game. Conversely, on the previous stage I died once on three screens. Would recommend stopping at the last stage.

Including extra. Main game is something like 6.5 and 65 for me.
Main game stages are different standard needle styles, and the extra stages are different styles of precision needle. I especially liked the final extra stage.
