Bio:
I only properly rate games I truly enjoyed. If I didn't enjoy it, then it simply wasn't for me, and I don't want to prevent someone else from playing something they would otherwise love because of my words.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I took down all of the creator reviews of games I released before Chatran because I no longer wish to be intimately associated with them. Please don't ask me about them anymore; feel free to use any of them in a medley or whatnot, but I do not wish to know that you're using them.
You can download all of them outside of collabs here:

Don't be like infern0! Keeping track of clears is a mistake and I wish to spread this word! Play fangames to play fangames, not to cite a statistic!
Don't be like infern0! Normalize realizing your boundaries and don't commit to something if you aren't feeling it. Don't give in to the sunk cost fallacy! Approach fangames with a healthy mindset and it will reward you!
Don't be like infern0! Be understanding and receptive to the art the great people in the community can produce!

- Spikes are a bit too light against this background, makes it harder to judge where their hitboxes end. I could get through it without problems but I have good eyesight, just be more careful with the visuals in the future.
- I feel like a lot of people will complain about the save placements here. I certainly felt like doing so, nobody likes to walk to the first jump every attempt, especially in a precision-based game like this.
I personally didn't have much fun with this, but that's more on me not enjoying the essentials of a Hades-like. I do think this game distills the style in almost its purest form--the original Hades is frankly not that original of a game, though maybe in its time it was considered as such. Likewise, I unfortunately didn't see much broken ground in this one--there's not much to be wowed by here. On the contrary, by the final screen I was more annoyed than wowed by anything I saw--the jumps got more awkward in general, and I thought the 4.5 save to be especially annoying to do for a lot of the aforementioned issues.
But do take some of my words with a grain of salt, I haven't been the target audience for stuff like this in years. And until the last screen it was mindlessly enjoyable and I don't think there's anything outright wrong with that.

My biggest issue with this game is that the first real save is so much harder to get consistent at than anything else afterwards. My initial training difficulty run had me on it for about 80% of my total playtime, and about 95% of my overall deaths on normal difficulty were on the first screen. I find that for flow needle, some of the individual jumps are slightly too tight for their own good, particularly in the fulljump department. I also find that occasionally the contour of the jump is so open that it becomes easier to just do it wrong without understanding why. As the game goes on it does get more lenient and more enjoyable, but the first half of the game is hard to stomach a lot of the time.

- Does not fix collision order issues with platforms and such.
- Includes alternate visual "skins" that activate only on Halloween and Christmas (activated by default -- shoutouts to Mayumushi being unplayable on Halloween because of this).
- Adds a handful of alternative spike shapes, none of them are named.
- For some reason, in the engine default Megaman area, places two rows of spikes on the moving platform screen at the end, and has every spike on that row's hitbox change into that of the half-height spike to avoid dying to them while riding on the platform.
- Forgets to rename the half-height spike sprite so the spike hitbox becomes the player's hitbox, allowing you to walk underneath the spikes instead.
- Doesn't fix the platform collision order issue that could have prevented all of this in the first place.
I fucking love this engine.
