25-floor needle game featuring bad visuals, dulcet instrumental music, and imprecise platforming (for the most part). It's intended to be a chill short-to-mid-length experience for players and is hardly a masterpiece, but I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

This is a great needle game, made for average skilled needle players. I grinded it for around three hours and 2000 deaths, and thought it was a challenging but fair grind. The needle itself is the star of the show, it's clear that the pathing and needle placement was the focus of this game, and the strong platforming shows. I'd describe the needle style as 16-px water/vine/platform with a focus on v-aligns, satisfying full jumps, and slight twists and edits to more generic tighter jumps. The platforming imo rewards player knowledge and optimal set ups, but the jumps are lenient enough that the knowledge isn't required. Personally, I liked the usage full jumps a lot, it makes it seem like the maker really spent time on each individual jump, and leads to platforming thats easier to execute than it looks, which I think is a great boon. This effect really comes to show in the later 1-save levels, that initially look daunting, but end up being quite simple and satisfying to execute once you figure out the jumps. There is a quite a wide difficulty curve, the first few levels are suitable possibly for day 1 beginners, while the later levels have tighter movement and even some knowledge based set ups and tricks that the game would at times teachs you with signs, which is a nice personal touch. For beginner players, maybe try playing up to level 15 or so, where I think the game becomes much more difficult.

Idk what defines "good" needle, tbh I think its quite opinionated, but the needle in this game rarely annoyed me or took me out of my concentration (actually there was a half vertical platform that annoyed me, but I guess it taught me a bit about platforms), and there was nothing that required painful levels of precision, so I'd say it was satisfying, fun, maybe even good, needle. For me, the game peaks during screens 15-20, the 1 save water/vine/platform levels were super flowy and satisfying. The music choice initially was a bit strange, I liked the later more relaxed music, the first two fast paced spaghetti western type beats made me anxious tbh lol. The song choices remind me of the old Asian style needle games with instrumental piano or orchestral music, just with a bit of a western twist which is nice. Idk what dulcet is though, google returned nothing, I think the author may have made it up. Its a good game, I had a lot of fun, improved a bit too.

The soothing piano music reminds me of the 2014-2015 era.

I would say this game is competently made, but not particularly fun to play. The first 10 floors are basically nothing, so you're only really getting ~15 screens of meaningful content here, and everything from 19 on was pretty boring to me. People have pointed out other issues already, but I'd like to mention that this game absolutely *loves* full jumps. Not only does this make some saves physically taxing to play, it contributes to the design feeling repetitive, even uninspired.

Again, I don't think this is a bad game, there's nothing really "wrong" with it. There are certainly many far worse needle games out there. It just lacks anything to make it special, I guess.
