Regardless of the included exe file:
Visuals Novels are games in which their gameplay consists of clicking or scrolling your scrollwheel to read through text. They may sometimes prompt the player to make choices, but some of them do not. In prior decades there has been debate about whether or not these count as games, but as of 2025 the majority opinion is that that they can be classified as Video Games.
The mark of Video Game does not come from the soul.

Text-based adventure games are games which consist of only ASCII Text. Some of them may use the text to draw visuals, but a lot of early influential titles like Zork did not. Their gameplay consists of the player responding to prompts and descriptions with typing out actions they wish to do. They have always been considered video games.
The mark of Video Game does not come from the look.

It has been established that a game does not have to be an executable to be a video game. The obvious example would be physical media, Cartridges act as circuit boards you plug into the systems, and Discs are raw data being read by a laser in the console. However if you believe those to an invalid comparison due to hardware, then you have Flash Games, which are stored as .swf files. One may argue that this is a different situation as you still need a Flash Displaying executable to run them, however in order to run this .txt file you need a Notepad or another Text Displaying executable, so I believe it to be a mute issue.
The mark of Video Game does not come from the form.

With everything stated above, I view this as a video game.

I can't believe I just downloaded a text document that calls itself a “game” (“oh wait, it comes with an .exe *opens it* *it just tells me to open the readme* bruh”), it's everything, a critique, a comment, a meta-game, everything except a game you can interact with or challenge yourself with. There's nothing to do except read a few lines and get to a “thank you for reading.” Calling this a fangame seems like a stretch to me ... Can this even be considered a fangame?

Interesting, I'm gonna be neutral in this thing and hope everyone can understand the point from both sides (4th is important)

1. Is this a game? In the concept... yes!
- You have an objective: Read the readme
- You can finish the game reading all the text
- Is interactive, veery minimal... open the exe, close and open the readme. If this don't include the .exe it wouldn't be a game anymore
- Difficulty and amount of actions not define a game

2. Is this a fangame? Debatable, all games with "I wanna" not are games necesarily, but this game was created focused to be delivered to the communnity, so... depends, in my opinion, that's not a fangame

3. Is a problem this game is in DelFruit? Not really, this platform since the beggining have a lot of questionable games, with bad designs, lot of memes, etc
Thats the point of have a platform when you can share all the creations you want... and that happen is eeeeevery community that include this freedom of do your own creations. Its bad? absolutely not! for that reason exists the rating system to rate is the game is good or bad (and in this case the game is terrible)

4. So what's the problem? In past times, the meaning of a good game was well established, good design, nice visuals, variety, nice ideas... and the bad game usually have many reviews saying what you have to improve, sometimes the reviews are harsh, others well elaborated, but as I said, the line between both definitions was clearly drawn

The real problem happens when for some reason this type of fangame starts to believe to be "the right path to the fangames", its fine to consideer this a masterpiece for the meme, for that reason games like "I wanna be the My heart goes on" or "I wanna be the Chokochoko" have variety of reviews (being those bad games), but there's a point when thats "masterpiece" reviews is no longer a joke

Games with very questionable visuals, awful gameplay, poor ideas, boring memes instead to get a constructive review are becoming the "meta" of what you can have to create to get the attention of everyone... the "unique and wacky" as how I usually hear it, and when you do a game with good visuals and gameplay usually look away, unless it's done by a well-known creator

All these types of fangames can coexist, as I said in this platform you can upload the creation that you want and nobody have to stop you (at least your creating break a rule obviously), but... it's time to stop idolizing games that ultimately aren't all that great

That's my opinion...

Respect to the game... I have invested the same amount of time with "I wanna avoid the spike" and I had the same feeling, I'm crying, EL RAYO MAKUIN KUCHAOOOO
