A fun needle game for intermediate players. The game has some interesting usage of varied spike shapes, using them in conjunction with basic gimmicks to create some atypical jumps. I appreciate this a lot, however I feel like the game didn't play to these strengths enough. The game is weakened by some overly precise standard jumps, and a heavy overreliance on platform bonk spam. If the game stuck to the more creative parts, it would feel a bit better.
The long saves at the end were interesting, although a tad unbalanced, and a pretty decent leap up in difficulty from the rest of the game. Additionally, while the game changes the song, it never changes the tileset, and the having the same visuals for the entire game makes it a bit less memorable and a bit boring.
One other thing I noted, the game doesn't save multijump powerups, but the first screen they're used is designed in a way where you return to a save with triple jump. This is a pretty common way to design a screen, and typically you're meant to take the save again but with your new power. In this game, that just results in you losing a couple saves of progress. The game features signs in several places tutorializing gimmicks, it really could've used one here.
Overall, a decent recommendation for some fun needle with good use of basic gimmicks. However, the game has some flaws that prevent me from giving a stronger recommendation.

difficult trials/PTSD game with some not-so-complicated tech, but some very difficult saves nevertheless. I won't exactly spoil what they may be, but you'll find all of the hardest saves are near the end of the game. the saves are fairly satisfying and a valign display is provided for saves that may or may not require a certain valign range. jumps often utilize difficult and specific cancels and don't often focus on jumps above 10f. the hardest save in the game is very difficult and requires an insanely precise 1+1+1 (or at least, that's the way I did it). it's found somewhere in the latter half of the game. the game is also subdivided into areas that look ever so slightly different, which is a nice touch I'd say. new areas are to be found every 10 saves. it's fairly well designed and is pretty fun if you don't get stuck on anything for a particularly long period of time

This avoidance has some cool things about it but also a lot of flaws. There's some novel attack ideas but at the same time a lot of the RNG variance is pretty rough, some attacks can be free most of the time but give something really dumb occasionally, some attacks almost never feel satisfying to read, and some can just be extremely evil if they decide to. I think this issue is exacerbated by some attacks feeling uncomfortably fast to me, it's definitely not all of them but I think at times the avoidance is a speed that doesn't really match the song or just feels like you can't move out of the way of bullets even if you react quickly, this could just be a personal issue. With all this being said the game is fun, it just has these annoyances which make it not as rewarding or enjoyable as I think it could be. I also think visually it's a little over-simplistic to the point of looking empty in certain spots, it's really apparent in Drop 2 for instance. Good game with some issues.

Nukeru spike is probably the best Uhuhu-like game I've played. It manages to create some fun jumps, while avoiding some of the awkward jumps that Uhuhu is known for. The usage of triggers and cycles is, as always, the best part of the game. It creates some more interesting segments, particularly in conjunction with platforms and jump refreshers. I wish this was a larger part of the game, because it's more interesting than the decent, but uninspired, jtool needle.
The game unfortunately still carries the biggest flaw of Uhuhu-likes, which is that is is unmemorable. With only a single tileset and song, the entire game blends together, and the smattering of more interesting cycle jumps isn't enough for the game to really stick out in my mind.
Overall, a solid recommendation for some quick needle, particularly if you're exploring the Uhuhu genre. But unfortunately there are far more memorable games out there.
