Crimson Kid is a unique game that features triggers that change the player's abilities, and can range from things such as the ability to stand on platforms, shoot bombs, or triple jump. As many other reviewers may mention, the pathing throughout the game tries to focus on giving a puzzle feel, however I do think it falls short in many ways. For the most part, you'll spend a majority of your time trying to find the one singular option you can do at the moment because you will almost always need to get the different gimmicks in a certain order.
There are also a lot of issues with the game. For example, the tutorial for the flying kid is by far the worst screen in the game and actually took me longer than the screens afterward that actually use the gimmick normally. Other issues include the Spike Kid feeling extremely jank as well as Softlocks you can encounter throughout the game. Also, while I appreciate at the start you can change your tileset, I would have liked to have been able to change it again later in the game alongside the music, it feels weird that nothing aesthetically changes after Boss One. Finally, and this complaint may be coming from a skill issue, but the final boss is way harder than anything else in the game, and personally I found it unenjoyable.
As a Needleventure game, I would say it's pretty decent, but there are so many rough edges in it. As a Puzzle game, I would say it didn't really succeed that much in my eyes.

Proof of concept needle. The game is designed to be very tough corridor-ish needle, the first screen is free but the difficulty ramps up very quickly. The main "gimmick" of the game is that it completely makes you unable to numpad, while utilizing a lot of cancels, the prime example of which is the 7-long water invert save. While you can have a workaround with cancel scripts and macros, the game is intended to be done with shift cancels.
The needle itself is while interesting is really fucking bad, for example: save with 3 tough jumps the last being a PD invert, having to do a PTJ without numpad (this was completely horrible), last save being a double plane into a floor ex15. I might be overrating the difficulty of the save cause im bad at both jumps but it took me a long time so this is what i think of it.
Gotta point out that theres an actually possible leehe triple diamond which is quite something
