Kaenbyou 3, while fundamentally the same thing as the earlier entries, is I think a bit better. It uses the formula in more interesting ways, with more unique jumps and such.
Overall, this trilogy stands the test of time as a beginner recommendation.

Kaenbyou 2 is more of the same, aka interesting pathing with beginner friendly jumps. This one gets a bit more interesting, with more unique jumps and more frequent pathing moments.

The Kaenbyou trilogy is revered as some of the best needle games for beginners. I do think that still holds up, this has interesting pathing and basic jumps that teach fundamentals. The first is the weakest, but not significantly. It definitely feels like the maker improved over the course of the trilogy.

L is the infamous progenitor of the L needle genre (although it is secretly predated by P). As such, it plays a very divisive role in fangame history, with a large contingent of people wishing this game had never existed. While it has certainly spawned some garbage, I think the genre has merit, as I find it very interesting to push fangame physics and precision to their utmost.
Of course, I'm not going to rate this game based on its impact, but rather the game itself. I think this game winds up being pretty fun, with some interesting jumps that explore some unique movements and various aspects of precision. The big downside is the hard saves, save 7 and the penultimate one. These are both the most time consuming saves, and the least enjoyable. Both relying on uncomfortable tiny jumps or frame perfect arrow presses. In each case, a super unfun meat grinder jump is followed up by other jumps that are just hard enough to make you repeat the bad jump several times. This is an unenjoyable paradigm, and since these saves last for a large portion of playtime, they leave a sour taste in your mouth about the game as a whole.
Overall, I would recommend this game for those with precision sympathies. It's interesting from a historical perspective, and a decent game in its own right.

Maybe the best jack world game i've played yet.
It starts with the classic jackworld starting room and then switches to a hub with six avoidances.
Each of the avoidances are fun with some occasionally very questionable RNG (specifically for the one in the top right). The midi's are truly incredible with some of the best songs I've heard from Jack World Guy. There are some bad instagibs, but you come to expect those from this maker.
Strongly recommended if you enjoy his specific "style" and would like to experience some shitty midi's
