A game made as a satire of the medley genre, containing a bunch of tropes they tend to have. From the scrolling grid, to the overused screen/boss/song choices, to buffing screens that were easier originally, this game has it all. This game coming out soon after I Wanna Kill Originality, of course that was one of the targets, but far from the only one. As a satire, I'm not sure how to feel about it, since while it does feature overused aspects like this, it also features more novel ideas like I Wanna Break The Title Card, or stuff like featuring your own games which isn't that big of a deal. I guess I'm looking too deep into it though, this game was made to be funny more so than to be an actually serious critique.
As a game, though, this is where the game either succeeds or fails, and I'm happy to say that the former is true here. It is a joke game, so that means it's super easy, while also being interesting at the same time. The variety of screens is surprisingly high for such a short game, and in the cases where the original screen was too hard, Patrick went out of his way to make them easier. That doesn't stop the game from having a couple of hard screens, like Balloons 2 or Engine Trial, but these are short enough to not pose much of a threat. Then there's the boss fight against Demon Lord Biff, which was also interesting and full of variety despite taking some of the most overused parts of other medleys. Overall, it's a fun and easy time...
...at least on Normal mode, but surprise, the game also comes with an Impossible mode for some reason, and this is where the real issues begin. The harder screens that would be fine originally now carry more weight to them, since there's more game to replay if you mess up. The same goes for the boss, since one instance of bad RNG can send you all the way back, and don't think that such an easy boss is incapable of giving you RNG like that. Impossible mode would be more fun if not for being so unbalanced, but here we are I guess.
So overall, I liked the memes and the fact that was made in good fun rather than malice, but Normal mode is really the only way I would recommend to play the game. Just pretend Impossible mode doesn't exist and you'll be much better off for it.
