The game is fun. I think as far as leaving a strong impression goes the game having one song and visuals that change very suddenly hurts in terms of the game having a strong atmosphere, but also judging by the name and the general vibe of the game it doesn't really feel like it's supposed to be a super cohesive game, just a collection of fun needle screens. It's definitely fun to play through, there's good variety and some really neat ideas, my favorite section might have been the jump refresher fields segment. If you just wanna play some needle then this game is worth your time.

Played a few hitcount runs, it's extremely fun!
Attacks flow really well, and the song and whole vibe is really unique. Not much more to say, but generally very well crafted, as are most Dragon games.
All the negative reviews seem to be from a similar group of people who have invented a false point to get mad at. I believe they are in bad faith because I was there during parts of this game's production, and at no point was being "the new AHoF top 1" ever the primary intention. It's important to not assume the creator's intentions, especially if you don't know them!!

For my 500th clear (or whatever number it is) I decided to play the game, which basically is called '500 gate festival!'
In the game you don't have the music, and author in the text document says that one should put whatever music they wanna.
The game starts with a loading screen where you need to beat at least 1 gate jump, if you wanna activate Medium, so in reality you should do at least 501 gates in this game.
Also for higher difficulties you need have less amount of saves.
Basically the structure is as following - you jump up the few platform to start the actual game. From there you have 3 screens of gates. 1st 2 have 80 gate jumps in total. The last one 20. Then it all repeats.
In every new 'stage' you have differently coloured spikes. The sequence is as following: Red -> Yellow -> Green -> Light Blue -> Dark Blue.
The difficulty settings is that in Medium you need to beat 10 gate jumps for every save, so basically you need to repeat your success for 50 times. On Hard mode save is every 50 spikes, so you repeat the process 10 times. On Very hard mode there are only 5 saves, so you need to beat 100 gate jumps and do it 5 times. On Impossible no saves.
The cool thing is that game has auto-restart so you do not need to press 'R'. The downside is that you have white screen for a split second when you die, so it is a bit unpleasant for eyes.
Once you beat the game, you have a password for a game '上下針祭り1000!'! This was the DL for the game: http://www1.axfc.net/uploader/He/so/373640 (the ID for 500 gate jump game is literally one number lower - 373639 lol). The issue is that Axfc link has corrupted the game, as far as I know, so you would need to download from other unofficial sources.
I appreciate some things, but it is basically very repetitive game. I do not know how high I would rate doing 10 gate jumps, this is just my guess.
Oh, yeah, also it is funny how this game has Speedrun leaderboard lol.
Anyway, would not recommend.

The first 10 seconds have a pretty strong luck element.
Overall, the difficulty is a bit high, but except for the first 10 seconds, the balance is well adjusted, making it enjoyable to play.
