Quite fun game with a couple generic traps (Not too many for the most part) that drag it down a bit. One intro stage followed by three stages that can be done in any order, and then a last stage. Nice design at the left and the center stages. The right stage makes use of some annoying fangame classics (An invisible block maze and one of those sequences of screens with no saves consisting of the same screen getting buffed over and over), but the invisible block maze is so short that it feels more like a joke than like something annoying. The screens with no saves were annoying anyway, though.
The last stage is pure and simple needle-ish platforming with one save for each screen. It's quite enjoyable. The avoidance at the end has way too many pattern attacks at the beginning for me to like it, though, even though the attacks get a lot softer near the end.
It makes use of a lot of things that would usually be really annoying (Specially the traps), but in such little amounts that they feel almost harmless (For the most part). Also, the platforming is something worth playing for. Would recommend.

For: I wanna be the Scribble
I'm not a big fan of Carnival's previous games, but after Scribble, it's hard not to be a fan.

I wanna be the Scribble starts off with a kid waking up with a fuzzy memory, not knowing his purpose or why he's wearing a crown. He sets off to collect pages for a storybook and tackle the devils that stand in his way.

The game starts off simple, with only the typical guy physics. Though as your inventory increases, so do the possibilities for level design. It seems like Carnival knows this scope and does a good job at exhausting the possible ways you can design a level with each new item. He also did good at blending gimmicks together without a repetitive feel to it. Many levels have a unique solution to them, and the process of figuring them out was quite enjoyable.

Some of the traps were a little mundane, but it didn't hurt my experience. From what I can recall there weren't any places in the game with a precise jump, so once you've figured out the level, you can do it with ease. A few traps got laughs from the people watching as well, so it just depends on the perspective. I also understand people disliking the way traps could take away from the smooth progression of the game. I don't think Carnival is excessive with the traps, but I agree some of them could be more creative. When a creator has made multiple fangames, you can sometimes point out his style very quickly. The traps are just part of Carnival's style and I think it is completely acceptable.

The menu system was a tad tedious towards the ends of the game. You have to switch items a lot and it was tiring at times. The true final area has places where you have to switch items during mid-jump too. I just wish there was some sort of hotkeys feature. It's not a big deal though.

The bosses are designed and drawn well. Many of them are based around the most recent gimmick in the game, and Carnival does well at implementing them in the fight. The kid auto shoots, so it's not about how fast you can mash the key. The fights are fast paced and there are enough attacks to make the boss eventful. I couldn't find a way to skip the boss intros, although I only tried the "S" key. Most of the intros aren't long, so it's not a major issue.

Each world was beautifully made, and I really wish it never ended. Carnival went all out on this game, and it definitely shows. This is easily the best game of 2016 so far, and I am looking forward to his next project.

The game has an okay concept, but the trolls are as old as fangames. It's almost sickening how many times I've died to a bland spike falling on my head. The level design isn't bad, but it's not great, either. I've never been a fan of backtracking, and I do admit there's parts where it's different coming back than going to, it's still something I'd never agree with. The graphics are okay for what it is. I'm just not seeing anything that makes this game standout. I'm not sure if I want to finish it yet.

Saves are literally everywhere, which allows you to skip in a lot of spots. The level design is awful, as I found myself doing the same thing over and over, with corners and raised diamond jumps constantly coming about. I didn't find it enjoyable. People who are learning these types of jumps might like it, but it's not interesting enough to be justifiable.

Fun lengthy trap game consisting of 8 stages, each of them very different from each other giving the game good diversity.

The platforming isn't too difficult nor are the bosses except the touhou boss, the sphere attack was just absurd and I probably spent around 3 hours grinding away at it. At the end there's also an avoidance which was well designed. I don't usually like avoidances but this was one pretty fun to grind.

Difficulty wise honestly the game would be a 60-65 if it wasn't for the touhou boss and the avoidances. Overall I would recommend this game to anyone that enjoys trap/adventure games.
