Okay trap game with a pretty cool visual wise avoidance but the attacks are kinda bad. It was fun though I guess. Visuals are all around solid.

This is a pretty lengthy and solid needle game. 100 floors and a difficulty curve that doesn't make it painful until you are near the end.
Once you get up to around 75, the game really starts to change in a lot of ways. The difficulty starts to ramp up much more at this point, and you also unfortunately start to see way too many corner jumps shoved into the segment in the last dozen floors. I found this to be somewhat disappointing because for the first 3/4 of the game, the level design and platforming were interesting and not too generic.
The visuals though most of the game are pretty decent, they change every 5 floors along with new music which keeps the flow going at a good pace. There's a handful of stages where the visuals are just horrid, not enough to be a major problem, but there some moments where its very jarring. A few stages with black backgrounds make it hard to see the kids feet, and I think the game would have benefited with the option to toggle the kid's sprite like in Crimson Needle so on these stages you contrast better with the visuals.
The save points are shoot saves, but you need to be standing right on them for it to work. In most cases it's fine, but in some its very annoying because the saves are placed not close enough to the jumps. Standard saves with bullet blockers would alleviate some of the frustration in a few places.
It's a pretty good game with a lot of content, mostly good designs, and production value. It's worth playing if you like needle, but the direction of the latter part of the game made me glad it ended and maybe not soon enough.
