A rollercoaster ride through quirky gimmicks and content that probably shouldn't exist but it does regardless. Eight Beelzebubs features a really weird variety of content, all packed in a multitude of fairly short stages that fly rapidly from one to the next.
The game opens with a pretty eye raising stage, but as the game goes on it brings a lot of things to the table. Some personal highlights include the bee honey stage and the cloud collectathon stage. There are also some real clangers too which I wasn't too fond of, such as the questionable pause-playing stepmania stage. A good chunk of the stages are also primarily trap focused and don't feature any gimmicks worth nothing, but they still have some oldschool charm to them that I ended up enjoying.
It's kind of a weird game, but I liked it more than I thought I was going to. If you're looking for a weird mixture of oldschool ideas and design styles then you'll probably have a decent time with this one.

Old school collab, a true rollercoaster of emotions. Lot of people despise it, I would call it a masterpiece.

Jesus, this is bad. Quite possibly one of the worst collabs I have ever played. Maybe even one of the worst fangames that had work put into it. Out of the 20 stages there were only like 4 that were decent or had potential, but even then they were made poorly. Don't play this unless you want to suffer.

Frankly, I think the reputation this game gets is completely unwarranted. Eight Beelzebubs is completely shit on every time it is brought up. I went in expecting this to be a dumpster fire sudoku mess, where it is redeemable only in the humor of its insanity. However, I wound up playing a creative, varied, adventure game! It's certainly not fantastic, but it's quite good! In fact, I would say that nothing in the game is straight up bad! There's plenty of stuff that's just kinda okay, but there's also several things that are super unique and really cool! I would go so far as to say that this game is better than notable sections in many highly regarded adventure games!
Seriously, this game has some funny basic traps, good silly sections, and some interesting trigger needle. The "bad" parts are just cases of people disliking weird visuals and silly game design. Furthermore, the gimmicks are really creative and are used to make some really fun sections. Highlights are the famous honey stage, an interesting take on a "rhythm" game, and a memory-based color switching section.
Ultimately, this is very much not a game for everyone! The game design is often non-traditional, creating gameplay that's quite wacky (I don't mean this as a euphemism for bad). I can see how people don't like this, but I find the cries of "worst fangame ever" completely divorced from reality. I would highly encourage people to play this, if you are a fan of strange, sometimes abrasive, design.

Decent-ish collab. Lots of different stages mixed up together, some of them featuring original, or at least rare gimmicks. Some are well-made, some make a poor use of their gimmicks and some are just bland platforming mixed with generic traps that are only wasting space in the game.
I enjoyed some parts and hated other parts, and these parts are all mixed together in this game. Not sure if I would recommend.
