Really liked this one. Its an old-school Marimario adventure game so expect his usual Trap-filled platforming style and generally not a whole lot of production value. I know others would complain, but eh I don't really care. Adds to the charm if you ask me.
There are 12 stages total, so its a pretty long game. Each of those stages also has its own unique gimmick to spice things up, and they actually surprised me quite a bit. Most of them if you were to try and explain to me without any context of the level design I would more then likely say that they sounded bad and unfun. Yet when actually playing the game I don't feel that way at all. Marimario did a really good job turning more controversial gimmicks into some really fun platforming.
Bosses were also fun, but definitely not the highlight of the game. Not bad per say, just mostly forgettable. Felt the final boss was really easy compared to earlier ones, especially the touhou boss and the visibility gimmick boss
Oh yeah there is also a story told through some visual-novel cutscenes and literal anime openings, but I got no clue what was going on since it was all Japanese. It was very funny though making up stuff on the fly to try and get everything to connect lol.
Overall would definitely recommend if you like oldschool adventure games and don't care about not understanding the story. This ones got a bunch of surprises in store.
