Take the Memory 2 is a wacky anime-themed adventure featuring visual novel shenanigans, dazzling games of chance and a story that you won't soon forget. You're even given the incredible option of either a) knowing Japanese and reading the story to fully understand it, or b) not knowing Japanese and making up your own story as you go along to try and make sense of why you're being assaulted by a variety of anime girls in spike-infested rooms.

The game's flow is pretty strange, featuring a bit of backtracking here and there as you explore new areas before returning to the town in order to advance the plot. Similar to Marimario's other games, the stages usually consist of a particular gimmick alongside a healthy dose of traps. There's also a good variety of bosses, often utilizing the stage gimmick in some form. I particularly liked the Not Visible stage which hides either the player, spikes or blocks depending on the trigger, although it does make me worry for the difficulty if you aren't playing on Medium.

The game does have a True Ending which includes a few more stages and bosses, and it's relatively straightforward to get. After beating the game normally, you can start again from the beginning following the choice given after credits, and just pick the option that was previously greyed out in the conversation with Marimario (the scientist-looking guy), which will take you onto the True Route.

The production value isn't really anything to write home about (with the exception of the openings perhaps) and the platforming can be a bit clunky at times, but there's something about the game that just felt very memorable and fun to me. It's a lot of kooky ideas and zany happenings that make fangames fun to play for me, and overall I just had a lot of fun with it.

A really painful experience, with some really bad gimmicks, extremely bland level design and super annoying traps. The game only really becomes tolerable at stage 10 which is multiple hours into the game. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Weird but kinda unique game thanks to his story and cutscenes.
It has a lot of different stages with each one having it's own gimmmick, some being cool but most of them being just ok are even annoying. The game flow is also quite weird because it features a lot of different kind of area, you sometimes have to do some huge backtracking and then do some hub based areas. But what makes it unique and imo worth playing is the story. It has a visual novel form, and is sadly only in japanese. Like wolfie said, you can try to mak your own story if you don't understand japanese but it would honestly be meh to miss it because, even if it's not something game changing, the story is clearly nice and hav a very tearjerker (a bit exagerated but still) ending. I'm also saying that because missing the story is basically missing a huge part of the game so you won't have the best experience you could have if you do that.

Story apart, the game is nothing mind blowing but has some original areas, for the better and the worst. I personally highly recommend you to translate the story as I did even if it can take some time if you want to have the full experience.

The game calls itself an eroge Iwanna, but there's nothing lewd. There's a lot of story, involving some girls, each has a stage with a gimmick and then a boss. To get to the true ending you have to choose the right options that the MariMario character offers after you beat Yukari, unlocking the second half of the game with the most annoying gimmicks. There's a lot of variety in this game.

An adventure game with a lot of story in moonrunes. Thanks to that, it can be a bit difficult figuring out where to go, but a little trial and error will usually be enough. Has some interesting gimmicks, but also a lot of backtracking. Unique enough to be worth playing through, I'd say.
