I wouldn't exaggerate as much as the ending credits do (whether if they were sarcasm or not), but this game gave me lots of personal issues with the bosses. Sprites are fine and it is better than your average, underdone fangame done by users bent on flooding the wiki with AIDS, and this being from 2012, it must receive some credit on the production value. Laser stage was fun. That's it. The difficulty curve is a gigantic mess and some jumps are too precise for enjoyment. The second phase of the first boss peaks difficulty too much and it is frustrating to repeat all boss phases again and again when they suck. I only found some inspiration with Donkey Kong, but the final phase has RNG trash that can put you in an inescapable situation more times than one would be willing to accept. Finally, the final boss is boring to repeat several times as the first two phases are very mundane and uneventful, and a bad copy-paste of the most obvious fangame final boss you could imagine.

Not that taking inspiration is bad. Influka also did it with Timemachine 1 but making it with a distinguishable style. Here, the experience is not fun at all, and the title turned out to be false advertisement.

It gets love from hardcore classic lovers, so I am no one to stop recommending it. This is the kind of games Piece loved to make during his initial stages of development, so that's not bad.

This is a good old-school game with some interesting level design. The sprites are pretty cool and the music is amazing. The only thing I didn't like were the boss fights and difficulty being all over the place. Better have some good mashing. The Peanut boss was a fine fight until the second phase where it gets pretty messy and annoying dodging and shooting the boss. The DK fight was cool, but the last phase is an RNG mess that could put you in impossible situations too often. The Chair fight is a cool fight, albeit too learny. They would be fine bosses, except that if you die, it's back to square one. This makes the problems with these boss fights worse and boring after awhile when you die to a fireball that you couldn't avoid. So because of how bad the bosses can get, I can't rate it higher then a 7. Fun game overall, but be ready for the boss fights.

Enjoyable old-school adventure game. Platforming is mostly good, especially in stage 2 that reminded me a bit of kill the guy, which says a lot. However bosses aren't good, the first one is way way way too tanky, the second is one attacked spammed and the last is not that bad but extremely learny, chocky so frustrating. Still a decent game I could recommend.

A very old adventure game that while it falters in a few places, does tend to hold up reasonably well today.

It feels heavily boshy influenced - though much shorter - in both platforming and boss style. Depending on your opinion of boshy this could be a good or bad thing, though I think it represents a bit of both.

The production is a little all over the place which works out in its favor, giving each stage a sense of identity and charm. The aesthetics are solid and while each stage isn't even recognizable from the last, they all offer their own style.

Platforming wise, its predominantly good. Like Boshy, its a bit of a wild ride. Save difficulty varies wildly from one to the next, but they tend to each offer something unique and interesting though with all the pattern/cycle segments to learn, there are a couple parts where it gets a bit sloppy.

Boss-wise, its a bit more of a mixed bag. Expect to do some mashing and hunt for damage optimization/quicker kill opportunities like you might find in boshy. One of the bosses is kind of a mess and the final boss feels a bit too long and learny with a lot of fast transitions and patterns like you see in older adventure games, though the individual parts are mostly interesting.

Overall, it definitely holds up. I wouldn't say its at the top of the pile (I'd recommend the sequel, Kill the Guy or 8-bit for a similar style over it) but if you're looking for more classic western style adventure games, its definitely worth it.
