Based on 100 % clear. Few highlights are definitely there (especially some stuff in stage 4), but in general kinda awkward and bosses are not that enjoyable. Extra stage is tbh not worth it, even tho secrets were kinda fun

Creative pathing, which, along with the visuals and music, are the highlights of the game. The actual platforming isn't particularly great by more contemporary standards, especially in some of the more cramped sections. Surprisingly, I didn't mind the bosses; they were the right difficulty for me, which is to say they were quite easy relative to the platforming.
If you value aesthetics and pathing, consider playing this.

"Okay well, that's terrific." After playing this game last within the trilogy, I think Kermit's quote sums up the entirety of this saga.
Kermit 1 is the start of a long journey that spans what I consider to be the best series of IWBTG Fangames, and is the foundation of a great legacy worth experiencing for yourself. It is definitely the rawest entry in the trilogy and lacks a bit of the polish that its predecessors have, but I believe it is still a pretty great game worth trying. Unlike the others, this also contains 4 secrets, one per each of the first four stages, and if you collect them all you can try an extra stage at the end of the game. There's a boss per stage as well but be warned they are kind of mashy, especially the final boss, so you might even want to consider autofire if you have hand problems.
Definitely recommend playing it, and then continuing on to play Kermit 2 and 3. Enjoy the journey of a lifetime.

Very Long saves, difficulty balance was really bad. Lots of unique parts, a lot of which just felt awkward and bad to do. I feel like I would like this game way more if I was better and it took me less time than it did, but I was on just about every save for longer than I wanted to be. Also doing extra skips the final boss which was irritating.
