128 is a pretty solid Rukito like game that has a couple of segments I liked and a good bit that I really didn't.

All the earlier stages are mostly enjoyable, though there are still some occasional hiccups that are usually found at the end of saves that make them pretty annoying to repeat. They have interesting jumps, triggers that add to the experience, and are overall pretty creative. As the game goes on though, it starts to become harder and to me this style plays terribly when taken overboard. The grey area near the end is one of the worst needle stages I have played, especially the water tank save. The game would be significantly improved by removing this entire area. Another issue I have is with the length of the game, it just keeps going on and on with the same thing for 8 stages and it's incredibly exhausting and had me wishing for it to hurry up and end. The boss is mostly okay, but it is pretty long to its own detriment. The phases being in a strict order means you spend a lot of time just to finally reach the hard parts, and in general they just have way too much HP. I also hated the scrolling background, it was incredibly distracting and would have been better as a solid non-moving image.

Overall, I really liked some of the saves in this outside of the gray stage. I would recommend playing up to there, seeing if you can handle it, then maybe continuing since the final stage is a good deal better.

A well made trigger needle game. The visuals are as you'd expect from the style - simple but clean. There's certainly no exciting production value here but its adequate for the gameplay.

The platforming was largely enjoyable with a lot of interesting movements and good variety with trigger behavior and all the classic engine gimmicks. This is the bulk of the game after all, and that's where its important to shine and where it mostly does. While there were undoubtedly a few bad triggers (random gibs with no interesting interaction come to mind), the majority of them were good. There were a few obstacles that felt a bit repetitive, but the game's got a lot of content platforming-wise so its a bit to be expected.

Finally it ends in a boss that compared to the platforming shouldn't be too bad. It almost seems cliche for games of this style to have a boss with some pretty glaring flaws and this one certainly matches that. The individual attacks are decent but they go on way too long. The main problem, though, is the visuals. The background is scrolling (in the direction of the projectiles), very busy and has no contrast with the actual killers, making it unpleasant to look at and play and factoring in one attack is basically designed to eyesore you, its an unfortunate way to end a good platforming experience.

Its definitely recommended for anyone looking for a trigger needle challenge that doesn't quite bust their balls and while the boss shouldn't be a major obstacle for anyone who got that far, skipping out on that won't make you miss much.

Well-made, lengthy trigger needle with an easy boss at the end.

My only real complaint is that some of the saves are quite imbalanced compared to the rest of the game; most of the game feels like it never really breaks out of the 60-65 difficulty range, but a few saves here and there gave me quite a bit of trouble.

Really good Rukito style game. That being said, while the game is definitely Rukito-style, it also establishes its own identity via clever and effective use of triggers to turn every save into somewhat of a puzzle. Most of the needle is excellent and creative. Most of the triggers are sanely placed and sized, such that you're not asked to do nonsense like frame perfect trigger triggering. Overall it comes together in an extremely fluid and enjoyable experience.

Unfortunately, every so often there's a jump or a moving apple that requires too much precision - for example, the apple in stage 7's water segment, or the squished diagonal in stage eight. These segments crash the flow of the game to a halt. They really feel like they weren't tested sufficiently. The game also overuses apple bobbing mechanics. To its credit, it makes interesting use of the mechanic, but it becomes pretty tiring the second and third time around. Save point placement is also pretty bad, with lots of saves stuck in the air or in little cubbies off the main path (thankfully this doesn't matter as much for this style of game). However, these are mostly minor blemishes. I'm only detailing them here in the hopes that the creator can take notice and make his next game even better.

There's also a final boss. It's easy but has WAY TOO MUCH HP. Fangames gotta fangame, I guess.

Overall an excellent game. I look forward to more from 128-Up.

A really great trap and needle combo, with a boss at the end of 8 stages. The difficulty of needle combined with this style of trap really hits the right spot for me. The traps will get you once, but after that they can be dodged without a lot of frustration, and they become seamless with the needle itself. The saves and the stages are balanced really well; almost nothing felt out of place, and there's so much creative stuff here that I hardly felt frustrated once during the entire game. The level of challenge here isn't trivial though, and the saves for the most point each feel like a satisfying accomplishment.

The boss is also impressively fun and challenging. It's a mix of player targeting and reacting to rng, and it all feels very reasonable. It's a longer boss divided into several phases. Each phase differentiates itself from the last, and even once you've reached the last phase, the rest doesn't become boring.

The production here is nothing that's going to blow your pants off, but the visuals and music in the platforming and boss are all pretty pleasing, with a nice variety.

I can't recommend this game enough. I'm not a huge fan of trap games, but this one drew me in and didn't let go, which I think says a lot.
