In the preface, I will say thank you very much to Kilgour 22, who provided a link to the game.Initially, I downloaded the game as a challenge, because apart from crimson needle 1, on which I am now on the 82nd floor, I did not pass anything with a difficulty higher than 75. I read about the 37,47,57 floor, I expected a difficult and interesting game, everything turned out differently.Firstly, saving to S annoyed me, it is inappropriate and creates unnecessary problems almost everywhere.you have to stupidly refine, makes extra steps, extra jump every time because of clumsy saving. I don't like long saves, and almost the whole game is based on one save.I hate the 59th floor because of the beginning with the same clumsy preservation, a further easy passage and a noticeable tightening from the middle, and in the final a rather difficult jump awaits, I was lucky, I did it 2 times. At the same time, I did not feel the 37th floor, I will say a big 37 and 38 I have my favorite in the game, I spent 200 death son both, taking into account that I reached 37 with 2500 deaths, i.e. I did not feel any difficulty of increasing, the 47th floor was inconvenient, but nothing catastrophic, 57,58 I also passed quickly, but I will note 59 as difficult for me, perhaps, and unloved, because of the disgusting start and ending. This game will definitely not become my favorite, but there were still many stages that I liked

60-floor needle game that has original screens that match the source game for the visuals in terms of platforming style. It's great overall; what keeps me from giving it a higher rating, however, is the inclusion of very precise jumps that break the flow of the game. I didn't so much mind the difficulty balance, but how the difficulty spikes occurred.

Others have talked about a few of the harder screens. I generally agree with their assessment, though I don't think 37 save 2 is quite as hard as it's been made out to be, and I would argue that 59 also deserves a special mention for its difficulty, like 58. (I essentially first-tried 60...) Note that the elevated difficulty on these screens may be a huge turn-off for players who are good enough to enjoy the rest of the game but not quite ready for the hardest screens.

If you have the skill, it's a great game with lots of content. It kept me busy for nearly two hours, which is pretty darn solid for a needle game. Play it if you like standard needle.

Really cool game that sadly is very unbalanced at times, some saves are ten times harder than the rest, a good exemple is floor 47 save 1 that have an extremely hard jump that need a 2f with a tight mid air maneuver or a 1f. Some floors from the two third of the game have the same problem to a lesser extent but that still kinda ruin their saves. I also want to say that the hardest floors for me were the phonotaxis inspired ones which are somewhere in the middle of the game. I would recommend this game but be confident of your skills.

Fantastic needle floor game that has dozens of tilesets from one of the greatest needle games out there. Most jumps were really fun to pull off except for the few obnoxious ones like the drop in Phonotaxis screen.
As Wolfi said, the difficulty curve is pretty weird in this game; it was a leisurely stroll before floor 20, 20s and early 30s were average needles, and it suddenly reached its peak at 37, as I said. The last screen was really easy compared to 2 previous screens.
I thought it would be better if the game just ends at the CN2 since it's one of the hardest screens in the game and obviously this game was inspired by crimson needle. But I understood why it wasn't when I realized that the final screen is original.
There's not much to say, I just had fun 95% of my playthrough.

Phantom Needle IV is a very well-made floor game full of creative needle that pulls off the corresponding game style nicely. There's a huge variety in terms of style and they're often accompanied by very appropriate music, which helps the mood fit all that more.

A noticeable problem for me was the difficulty curve felt very out of whack. At around the 2/3's mark of the game, the difficulty climaxed with particularly an awkward save on 37 involving two full-jumps at the start, followed by a multitude of pretty demanding jumps. It felt very difficult compared to just about everything else, and the design suddenly became awkward and quite physically demanding to play. This broke the up-until-then very steady flow of the game for me, although after a few more less-tricky floors it felt like it went back down to normal difficulty and it felt fine again. The final floor also felt unusually easy compared to the penultimate floor, but this could just be a player-by-player case.

For the most part though, the design is really solid and the majority of saves stayed fun and enjoyable to play through. It was only when the flow broke that I somewhat lost enjoyment, but on a whole it's still a very well-done needle game. Would heavily look forward to the 5th instalment!
