The third and as of writing this review, the most recent installment in Piece's Gimmick Reimagination Needle.
I was impressed with what this game had in store as I was expecting some of the common non standard water like Catharsis first, instead I was introduced to water types never seen before. And I was blown away.
Oh and having Ocean Man as the Credits Theme pushed me to rating this game a 10/10. Absolutely well done game that I highly recommend.

A fun gimmick needle game making use of various types of water. The gimmicks range from the familiar, like bubble water, to unique, like platform water and shoot propulsion water. Unlike a lot of gimmick needle games, it doesn't just stick to one gimmick per area, every earlier gimmick is constantly making reappearances, with most saves featuring 2-3 types of water. This creates some really fun combinations, and super unique obstacles. The game has a solid difficulty curve, ramping up steadily with saves that feel harder, but never so much so that they feel like a wall. There are a few annoying spots, with a couple overly precise jumps and such, but by and large the game is a blast, and does one of the best jobs creating novel gimmicks and combining them.
Ocean Wetventure is an easy recommendation for fans of gimmick needle. The creativity on display cannot be denied, and the combinations of gimmicks means every save feels unique.

Ocean Wetventure is an interesting needle game that focuses on water-based gimmicks with a good variety of such. There are a lot of neat ideas here, though some of them I can't say were entirely enjoyable.
There are like a dozen of new water gimmicks in this game and they range from various things but mostly affect your movement in it. A lot of them are pretty interesting, most in fact, though I found a lot of the usage to be pretty awkward since it makes them work against the player in difficult ways. The downwards pressure water was a big example of this, it was pretty unenjoyable to use, another comes from ice water. A bigger offense though comes from how many times it felt the hardest stuff was at the end of the save, it's like having everything conclude with a choke jump except with actual difficult execution. When stuff like this isn't present though the game is still really fun, and the gimmicks themselves never feel that bad inherently (though the smaller jump you get from standing on platform water still doesn't make sense to me).
Overall, it's certainly an interesting game, but the actual design of saves leaves a lot to be desired. It's still worth checking out if you want to experience water gimmicks.
