It's not often that you get an avoidance fight that is challenging yet fair, and also fun to play. Good balance on the attacks and theoretically beatable on your first go, which is something I can respect a lot. As far as avoidance fights go, this is way up there for me.

me likey

i tried playing it again, and i only realized just how badly balanced this is, the entire fight is just wasting 2 minutes on phase 1 to get an attempt on phase 2, and maybe i just got unlucky but i died on it
12 times, whereas i died on phase 1 9 times

me not that likey

Very good intermediate difficulty colonel-styled boss fight. The first phase of the boss is an avoidance with a variety of pretty fun barrage attacks, however, what makes the fight stand out is the second phase, which is an infinite jump shootable boss barrage phase that introduces new attacks as you deplete its HP. I've always been a fan of infinite jump bosses like this and this does it in a really good way, being always very fun and tense to get to and play.

Overall, definitely recommended.

Decimate the Purple Taisa is a 2-phase avoidance/boss hybrid with a focus on barrage attacks, all under the watchful gaze of everyone's favourite military general, Schwarlitz Longhener.

The first phase is purely avoidance, featuring some attacks with noticeable inspiration from Soulless. I particularly liked the attack where lines come down and bullets go opposing directions, initially feeling pretty spooky but became natural very quickly. The attacks in general all feel well balanced too, although the final attack of the phase never quite clicked.

The second phase features a shooting element and gradually grows in danger as the health bar depletes. It's a fitting climax for the fight and I'm always a sucker for infinite jump dense barrage.

All-in-all a pretty fair and fun little challenge that's worth playing if you need something relatively small but engaging to test your reading abilities with. Would recommend.
