My entry into princeoflight's atlantis collab, which is not getting finished at this point. Took some time to add some features, mainly a main menu, clear screen, 16/9 aspect ratio and multiple difficulties.

It's a short metroidvania-ish adventure gimmick needle stage with a boss at the end. Hope you'll have fun.

I took the download link down for a sec because I was informed that someone was experiencing trouble with the game's shaders. In case you get an error upon startup, please update your DirectX runtime

The concept is cool, and I liked how managing the water level was actually a meaningful concern throughout. But a lot of the challenge simply comes from the oxygen timer, so most of the distinct saves ended up feeling pretty similar, imo. The fish enemies are also extremely obnoxious and not fun at all to deal with; I pretty much just reset every save with them until I fluked through it, which isn't ideal.

The visuals are nice and it makes the 16:9 aspect ratio work, but I feel like it's a bit too hard to see spikes underwater. Some more contrast between the spikes and the rest of the visuals would definitely have helped there.

Review based on hard mode since it's the intended difficulty.
Really good game with neat visuals, a 16:9 aspect ratio and despite the weird fact that the screen looks small, it doesn't affect the gameplay.
For the game itself, it's an interesting and relatively short metroidvania where you are seeking for new oxygen masks to increase your breathing bar, which is a freacking good idea. There are also some cool gimmick like oxygen bubbles and some system to increase or decrease the water level. What really annoyed me tho was those fishes. They move like sonic in boshy, at a really fast speed and when you have many of them around you, they can become a pain to avoid. And because the boss was basically a big fish which spawn some little ones, I didn't liked it and it really teared down my overall enjoyement. It's not especially that hard, it's just very annoying. Still a good game.

Really liked how this game was made.
Sure the fish enemies are annoying at times, but I didn't mind them too much.
Overall, just a nice game to swim through.

Moogy's review is kinda how i ended up feeling about this game, but the final boss deserves a special mention for being frustrating and also flukey.

Neat little exploration based stage. Keep in mind it is/was a stage intended for a collab and thus lacks a bit of the surrounding exposition of a full blown game, that combined with being quite short, but it does establish an identity and execute a concept quite well.

Production is fantastic, it looks good between the nice animated background and the effects and has nice audio tweaks here and there to make things stand out. There's a great attention to detail as well in the visuals and overall it just comes together in that regard. This is definitely the high point of the game though.

The concept is pretty good, takes a singular mechanic and expands upon it with upgrades and obstacles to interact with it. However, some of the design is a little janky. Forced resets in an exploration based game feels bad and the enemy behavior feels illogical and inconsistent. That combined with the weirdness with the floating blocks dampened the experience somewhat.

The boss is alright. It was interesting enough though a style that I don't really appreciate, so its hard to judge it effectively.

Overall it was a little frustrating but mostly fun and a good basis for what could certainly be something more expansive and interesting in a full fledge project. Definitely intrigued by the potential for more.
