Musics of the game are from Haruomi Hosono's album, 'Watering a Flower(花に水, 1984).' I liked how the creator interpreted the whole album and visualized on his own way, while making it aesthetically pleasing.

LOOK HERE IF YOU NEED HELP WITH THE PUZZLY BITS

The room in which you need to get to a place the arrow is pointing to you, you must wait for a block to appear. There is an invisible wall to be found in the room with the trigger that you can't seem to acces. The answer to the weird code thing that asks you "?" is 2.

I, uh... I don't really know what to make of this game. It feels both like an attempt at something and a joke in and of itself; I cannot tell if this is genuine effort or someone taking the piss.

Let's assume the former.

I Wanna Water a Flower is a puzzle/adventure game that would take less than ten minutes to beat from beginning to end provided you know the answers to the two puzzles, only one of which I'd really call an actual puzzle. There's a third bit one could call a puzzle, but that's so barely within the definition of puzzle that it's not worth counting it. Nonetheless, I was rather surprised upon opening the game to find some rather good visuals, though the save/load screen also, peculiarly enough, had a few shit brown blocks strewn about as well. This, more or less, gives you an idea of the confusing nature of the game.

The platforming is fairly generic, though not irritating at the very least. The real star of the show here is the baffling nature of the game itself. A weirdly creepy mood pervades the game, making you think there's more here than it seems. The game feels like the preamble to something greater, but once you solve (or brute force) the last puzzle, it sort of just ends, though the ending is suitably confusing as well. My only real complaint is that the puzzles are bad, though I think they fit into the nature of the game. The last puzzle, however, I have no idea how you're supposed to get to the answer, I just brute forced it and got lucky that the answer was simplistic.

I enjoyed this experience, for one reason or another, though I may be in the minority there. I'd like a more serious attempt at a game, since this was rather alluring to me. I think something more can be done here.
