Weird, zany fangame-adjacent trap/adventure style game that definitely has the boshy feel but much shorter and easier.
Weird engine and the general controls don't do it any favors really, but the design handles it very well for the most part.
The production is great, giving a nice mix of quality touches mixed with a core retro feel. Sound design (though a lot of it similar to boshy is loud, sharp sounds that don't appeal to me) is well thought out and consistent. Music is quick and varied and fitting.
The platforming is heavily varied, with new crazy concepts coming constantly and amusing enough traps throughout. Even if some screens aren't that interesting at times, there's always atleast something to hold your attention.
The bosses break it up nicely, and are very accessible and still fun despite the limitations imposed by the controls, and that's a sign of well applied design.
Overall, its fun. Its not without its short comings but if you enjoy adventure style games, this is a very amusing game with a lot of personality, and is very accessible across all skill levels (since fangame skill won't really do you that much good anyway).

The production value, what the fuck. It's not really the I wanna be the guy fangame, but screw that, this is a masterpiece. Everything is really well made, the funny stuff is actually very funny. The only annoying thing is the one height jump, but this is still 10/10 for me. I really recommend this one for every trap/adventure game enthusiast.

My favorite Jane game so far. Great visuals and soundtracks for the most part. The only point that I didn't like too much is stage 4, which is where surrealism comes in in all aspects (visuals and soundtrack), and also that the bosses are too meme for my taste, except for the final boss which is incredibly good. Furthermore, its low difficulty makes the gameplay quite enjoyable

Wow, this game exceeded my expectations in every way. It's creative, it's fun, and it's really really funny. I was expecting a fairly traditional adventure, and I was not expecting the direction this went in at all. The game has some of the funniest traps I've seen, with some really good usage of memes. The gameplay is quite fun, and the game is perfectly designed around an old-school single jump height. The bosses are awesome, with the finale being a super memorable experience. There's a lot of other really special stuff that you should just experience for yourself. Suffice to say, I have a new beginner recommendation, and frankly an easy recommendation for players of any level.

Really enjoyable decently short adventure game. Pairing a memey aesthetic with fairly high production values, Chungo's Gauntlet appears to be a pretty shallow jokefest on the surface but through a mix of great execution and some pretty good (if not the most insanely creative ever) ideas it stands as a really enjoyable romp. The bosses are all unique and have good gameplay loops, the environments are varied but all have cohesive themes, and it has a good difficulty ramp leading up to the final boss gauntlet. The further in you get, the more experimental it gets, and in my opinion the more enjoyable it becomes. For those seeking a game that is easy enough to be digestible for those decently acquainted with precision platformers while still providing enough challenge to be rewarding, this is a very solid choice.
