On the inside this is a great needle game, very chill easy and beginner friendly.
Has some light gimmick usage and it does a good job at it, with interesting level design.
The atmosphere is done quite well too, I liked the style going for it.
One negative is that this is yet another game being a bit edgy for no real reason, I didn't quiite appreciate the screamer at the end either.
The choice of "you can't reload your save if you exit" is just... not good, it does it for actually no reason and it feels like a "Haha too bad! You gotta start it all over again!" granted the game is very short but it's just not good to make the player have to redo the whole thing just because you wanted to be quirky (no, there's not a good reason for altering what is basic game design).
This also really defeats the purpose of it being a chill and beginner-friendly game because... beginners typically don't have the level of skill or patience a veteran has, so they might not even be able to complete the whole game in one sitting, and with no warning whatsoever they gotta redo it all over again.

Great needle game with gimmicks.
A cool and slightly horror-like atmosphere elevates the work to a higher level.
Some sections had unclear paths, but the save points were generally well-placed, making the difficulty well-balanced and the game enjoyable to play.
One caution: In this work, you cannot load save data, so you need to clear it in one go.
(I think this feature might be intentional)

The game has an intentional mechanic that doesn't let you back into your save after you leave the game which is such an unnecessary bullshit addition that adds nothing to the game and only causes an inconvenience to the player. Completely wasted a good fangame which had plenty of potential just to be "quirky"..

How I See World In Desaturated Colors is impressive in two different fronts. The first is managing to do a fangame revolving around easy platforming that doesn't feel excruciatingly boring to play through. The second one is managing to paint an abstract story that manages to make you empathize with it without ever saying anything explicitly.
This game is never too demanding of the player. The difficulty is consistent, and the saves are plentiful. Too plentiful at times if you are playing on Medium, but it's nothing that detracts from the game heavily.
And even though fangame platforming is hard to make work at low difficulties, and despite how lengthy the three stages of this game are, the game still manages to hold your attention! A combination of an excellent atmosphere and a good handle on how to keep screens varied carry the bulk of that weight. At some point the game splits into two paths for a couple of screens for no apparent reason, which might seem odd, but it actually helps a lot with keeping the stage intriguing.
Even though the narration is brief, the themes of the game permeate the whole experience. From beginning to end, every design decision, from the aesthetics to even the gimmicks used, can be interpreted to relate to the game's story. The game gives you a lot to think about without even giving any clear answer, and after clearing it, I played through it again just because I wanted to catch onto more things that I might have missed along the way.
All in all, short and sweet. Would love to see more from this maker!
