rating based on hard
32px needle with nearly nothing unique or interesting about it. it seemingly loops around and around with annoying screen transition kills that are oftentimes entirely unpredictable. the tileset is nothing special and I can’t remember if there’s music or not. hard only makes the last save more difficult, essentially everything else is only slightly harder. I suppose it could be interesting on impossible but that would likely not be a very fun grind. last save consists of everybody’s top 3 favorite hard generic jumps

nice-looking precision game that offers a somewhat unique take on the ‘lack of common jumps’ type of precision needle. this comes at the small but notable cost of the fact that practicing these jumps is often a pain in the ass since the grid snap is awkward. generally no tech requirement, perhaps a few cancels but they aren’t insane or unreasonable by any measure. notable saves are the raised leehe which is surprisingly difficult, the final save and the superledge save. superledge save is really annoying and not fun at all. the highjump at the beginning hurts to do and it isn’t fun after a while. game can also go dark because that’s how the shader works. it doesn’t really change anything but some jumps can be a bit harder to gauge. this doesn’t warrant a Visual_Challenge tag but it’s for sure teetering on the edge of it. shader also takes about 15 seconds to load when starting the game. don’t make the mistake of spamclicking the game’s executable, it’ll just open a thousand copies of itself

I really enjoyed burnmind!
Having played freezemind first, I will kinda compare my experience here to my experience playing freezemind.
I thought the first 30 stages weren't as good as the ones in freezemind, with less memorable music and less variety in gimmicks (almost every area in freezemind had 3 or more gimmicks, here it is usually just one main gimmick). I also think the ideas / execution weren't as great (but still really good!). There definitly are some stand out areas that were incredible, the scribble dna one and the killing your inverted self areas being some of my favorites in both games and are really fun to play. The bosses were much more inconsistent quality wise, however they are significantly more diverse than the bosses in freezemind. Many of the bosses feel extremely different from one another, for example sinistar, uboa, and freddy all change up the gameplay in substantial ways to make them stand out from one another.
For the time machine section, I liked it SO MUCH more than the time machine section in freezemind (i did not enjoy the time machine section in freezemind). Being said though, the areas didn't stand out too much (i didn't know much about the games referenced though), they just were short and not that difficult, which meant I had fun with all of them.
I liked the final boss, nowhere near as much as the freezemind final boss however.
I highly recommend this game! I really liked all the areas, and it was really really fun to play!
Both this and freezemind are incredibly unique and fun experiences.

The kid has lost his job and is forced to pick up a dangerous part in a rakuten card ad, will he be able to overcome the RAKTEN KADU MAAAAN!!! challenges?
Tough as nails visual challenge needle, in which the kid's whole body apart from his feet are covered by huge rakuten credit card glasses.
This makes the already pretty challenging needle even harder. In order to make this managable, i had to decompile it to add saves around the room to pratcice the harder jumps with the glasses on. Hardest jump award goes to the required 5 frame needed to get inside the drop. Failed that jump that is pretty far inside the needle around 10 times. Luckly, the one time i got it, i fluked the rest and managed to win. Phew!
Not reccomended unless you somehow like visual challenges.

This game combines some really unique gimmicks with really enjoyable platforming, funny and creative traps, and great bosses, to make a truly amazing adventure game. All of this maker's games are great and this is definitely no exception, I was consistently very impressed with the ideas, my favorite gimmick was probably using X to move blocks but all the platforming is awesome, and the bosses are great too, with the final one being especially creative, I've never played anything like it in a fangame. Very highly recommended.

My only nitpicks are the 2nd boss could have easily used the change shoot direction mechanic and maybe increase the HP just a tiny bit to make up, and there is that one attack pattern segment with the spikes and the waving blue bullets on the last boss that stays a bit too long for their own good, everything else was done fantastically!

While definitely an improvement over the first game, I find this game still be too lacking in enjoyable content to be worth recommending.
While the needle style this game uses is admittedly rather unique, it still somehow manages to feel really bland and repetitive. The same diagonals, awkward stutter drops, ledges, and set-up corners are around each floor and they get old quickly. I will concede that the start of the game honestly feels OK, decent even, but by the time I got to the 40s it felt like I had already seen everything there is, and yet the game continued to go on and also continued to get harder. There are a few glimpses of personality in this game every now in then, a ding block trap in one floor, the cn1 throwback intermission after floor 90, the joke 92 screens which feel like a breath of fresh air compared to what came before, but they are so few and brief compared to the rest of the game to make a significant impact. While there are many late-game floors that challenge the player to beat them in 1 save, nothing compares to floor 100 of this game which requires the player to go through not 1 but 3 (originally 4 in older versions!) screens of non-trivial needle. To say this is a big roadblock to players with less-than stellar needle consistency such as myself is an understatement, it wasn't a very fun roadblock either as the needle in question was not really any better than the needle on the floors that came before it.
The final boss is one of the few saving graces this game has. Its inclusion is rather interesting as it asks for a skill set that is completely different than what the rest of the game asked for. It's a pretty interesting remix of the final boss of the original Crimson, this time the fiends actually move in a clockwise motion instead of teleporting and their attacks are all different. 2 big things that make this fight nicer than the original Crimson is the water giving you a double jump, thus improving mobility, and the fiends having a much more reasonable smaller amount of HP which keeps the fight from dragging on. There's also 2 new fiends added to the fight whose mechanics affect all of the on-screen objects in ways that are very creative and are fun to work around. This fight is frankly one of the more awesome Crimson clones I've played and I think it's a shame that it's locked behind 100 floors of what I would personally consider rather bland needle.
