Based on True Ending (8/8 stages). Was not expecting something huge, but it ended up being pretty awesome actually. It's consistently high-quality varied collab with a ton of interesting inside
Pros were definitely strong - from nice production value to superb needle design. In that terms i would highly praise Kiyoshi and Roaka stages - they are both based on cycle needle, and they are actually peak of the game in both difficulty and quality. Kiyoshi was more on long-save side with cool vibe and more chill gameplay, while Roaka went crazy with some sort of Noesis-stuff platforming, that can't be described properly, but it was intense and unique for sure. Really cool stages overall. Kiyoshi pre-last screen was hardest thing in the game btw and final save of Roaka was a real journey
Not that awesome, but the rest of the stages were also good on their own. Of course, infamous Gaborro stage is big stand-out - it's basically also cycle needle but with some strange gimmick, where spikes switches between fast and slow states on every jump you made. While concept might be sounds fun, in reality this is more of trial-and-error than anything else. But honestly... not that bad. I was affraid of this stage initially and delayed playthrough because of that for a very long time, but reality was more good than i imagine. Saves are not thaaat long and they are fun to figuring out, since patterns are quite complicated and not obvious oftenly. But i can see how many people can find it unpleasant tho
Synthasmagoria area was also quite charming and memorable stage based on vines and some speedrun gameplay sometimes - pretty chill and good-ish. Near and Vierandice stages were way easier than rest of the stages and simple in terms of design, but i still enjoyed them. RandomChaos stage was nice and classic style from this maker, but last screen was hard in not the best way and i got slightly frustrated by it. Bummer stage imo was the weakest - gameplay doesn't click with me aside maybe of couple of saves, but i highly appreciate addition of option to transform sideways gravity into rotation - this saved me from hell, because man i do fucking hate sideways gravity
All in all, it was enjoyable. One of the best needle collabs i've played alongside with Shiver and Alphazetica. Considering difficulty of the game, this is one of the wisest choices to go on, if you wanna hard needle experience

I don't mind an easy fangame. I don't mind a hard fangame. What I do mind is a fairly easy fangame that suddenly ramps up the difficulty and brings the progress grinding to a halt.
The gameplay and aesthetics are serviceable throughout, but stage 3 introduces the most niche and fiddly mechanic I've ever seen in a fangame. Ok, even a dumb gimmick can be forgiven; beat it and move on. But this game has the genius idea to have the whole lead up to a boss fight with this mechanic + auto-scroller + unforgiving needlesque gameplay + obnoxious music. Even a single save point or two would have done wonders in balancing this difficulty spike, but the further you grind your way through, the more you have the sinking realisation that the creator really does expect you to master in real time this dumb gimmick that will never be seen again.
I likely could have gotten through all this eventually, but I couldn't shake the frustration and annoyance. If this game just started at like a consistently difficult level I would have been prepared for the long run, but as it is it just feels like a waste of time dying to a suddenly introduced one-off mechanic repeatedly.
Edit: Upped the rating and decreased the difficulty because it's probably not fair to be so critical because of one flaw.

I get the criticism that this game received because of the problems it didn't fix from the original. While I am aware of these changes, I have never played the original, nor did I get items or play this game's extra content, so keep that in mind while reading my review.
I don't know what it is about medley games but I really really love them, and this one was no exception. The first 5 stages are super fun, and while the occasional odd pick is there, and the difficulty spikes are noticeable, this section of the game's needle was a great time. I would honestly be willing to give this game a higher rating than I did, but stage 6 needle as well as a few decisions regarding bosses came off as pretty shitty to me. I played on and off for months, having 53 hours in the game when I completed it, so I've improved as I have gone through the game. When I was starting off, Influka was a major difficulty spike, and I think she still is compared to the previous two bosses. I don't really like how much her health was buffed to make it harder to skip avoidances. I hate that it's really easy to end up having to do the avoidance with Pochi, as it's completely ridiculous compared to the previous one and literally any attack so far. It's also shocking that nothing was done about Geezer, who has one of the worst avoidances to learn. The first part of the fight is so damn boring, and out of nowhere you get an avoidance that will stump most players if they haven't had too much experience with learning those kinds of phases. Solgryn also has the same problem, and the skip for phase 3 was removed so you can't guarantee you'll win if you beat that dumpster fire of an avoidance. Stage 6 has some good picks, as well as Lovetrap. Boss rush in this game is pretty fun except for gravity man. Imo, Nue's last 2 phases being swapped around was a good decision, but why were more changed like that not made for previous bosses? Also, boss rush doesn't seem like a sufficient skill check for the final boss, which is completely insane. I am thankful every day that phase 2 was almost completely redone, as the changes there are great. I know it sounds like I hate this game with how much I have been shitting on parts of it in this review, but I just want people to be aware that while I do think this game was wonderful and I'm happy to have it as a new hardest, there was still room for improvement. Some bullshit still hasn't been fixed, but if it never bothered you in the first place, you'll enjoy the game.

Worse in every metric compared to the first game. Way less interesting jumps, some you can even skip. Also, this game has massive input lag, even with patch tools, like wtf.
