For: I wanna go the Spook House
I think Spook House is the perfect way to design a beginner game. It focuses on variety, while remaining easy throughout. It shows off needle, puzzles, traps, and more, introducing new players to a lot of cool stuff seen in fangames. It culminates with a really memorable boss, being a really fun fight while also feeling quiet unique.

Given that I've played it twice and still don't remember parts of it, I think Aura is a decent but unmemorable game. Everything is pretty standard, and the gameplay feels a bit rough. While it has some cool stuff, most of it is at least a little unpleasant, and pretty generic.
Ultimately, it's a decent beginner rec, but there are better picks out there.

For: I wanna be the Octophobia
Octophobia absolutely deserves all the praise and recommendation that it gets. It is a wonderful showcase of a bunch of different stuff, and it feels like the perfect way to show beginners what fangames can be! It ranges from really cool bosses to the silly survival section, with each stage being a breath of fresh air.
Overall, an easy recommendation for everyone, not just beginners. Of course, the infamous Chaos mode is pretty messed up, but the easy more is an awesome experience that was one of the first fangames to show me how much potential they had.

The definition of short but sweet, Jerryfish is one of those games that gets recommended for new players a lot, because even for them it won't take long at all! Despite its super short length, the game is really cool, with super fun platforming and bosses.
If you're an experienced player who hasn't played Jerryfish yet, give it a try! I know you have 5 minutes to spare.

For: I wanna be the Little runner
Little Runner is a famous beginner fangame, and for good reason! It's the perfect introduction to the style of classic adventure games. The traps are simple, yet they manage to be pretty funny and occasionally surprising. The platforming uses really basic stuff to create interesting gameplay, something I consider to be a hallmark of classic fangames. The final boss is really cool, and a good finale, although it may be a bit tricky for novices!
Overall, there's a reason this game gets recommended so much. It's charming and fun, and a great introduction to the kind of things you have to look forward to.

For: I wanna Love the Winter 2
Having been selected as the very first game on the Adventure FSR, Love the Winter 2 has become the first fangame for a lot of people. Ultimately, I think that was a very good choice. While this game is lacking in some aspects, I find it to be a perfect microcosm of adventure games. It's got lots of charm, cute aesthetics, silly traps, and a fun boss. It's very much an easy game, and definitely one I would recommend to beginners.

I'm guessing the screen with the writing was the clear screen and the screen itself is a little extra? Since it was the hardest save of the game.
Decent, however overuse of low jumps make this game significantly harder, since you can't shift cancel, only numpad cancel.

For: I wanna be the Graverobber
I replayed this recently, and I enjoyed it just as much as I did as a beginner years ago. The game is full of charm, with each collectable having a distinct micro-stage themed around the relevant deceased. The traps are really funny, definitely the highlight, but that's not to say the platforming and bosses aren't interesting as well.
Wholeheartedly recommend as a beginner adventure game.
