While the needle is pretty decent, the game is enhanced by an avant-garde sound design combined with some of the funniest visual challenge effects I have ever seen.

Echo shows again that he is one of the best platforming designers of the modern era. All the saves work for me and the bosses are quite enjoyable too.
The final stage is honestly quite frustrating for me though and the choice to end the speedrun segment with the most learny save, followed by a series of traps, was so fucked up though. It hampered my enjoyment by a fair amount. I could see it reading as playful to do this but to me it was just rude. Definitely a recommendation though.

As always, Chrisay delivers on the presentation front. He's always able to make fangames look so amazing even with a limited time. I love how the snowman animates.
The boss to me reminds me of Justice Guy which for many is a draw. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of bosses in that vein because it feels like I'm often playing an intro I can't sleep through before playing harder versions of the same attacks. There's no way for me to practice on the harder versions and I just get frustrated when I'm not dodging well. In other words I got skill issued by this.

A top tier atmosphere. I loved how much went into the presentation of this. There's a lot to enjoy here and I completely understand the high ratings.
For me though, I just wasn't having that much fun. I've never been the hugest fan of shooting spikes and the additional stipulation of trying to find ways to avoid shooting made a lot of segments just less enjoyable overall. I felt like I was deliberately picking the less fun path in order to reach an ending I had no clue I would hit. (I did not and it soured my experience further)
The 3rd screen in particular has some saves which just feel far more precise than they probably should have been.
I do want to clarify with my rating that this platforming *does* have a lot to love about it, but most saves felt like it had one jump that made my experience awkward and harder than probably intended, and looking at Chatran's other released output around this time and afterwards, I feel like I wouldn't have this problem with his other games. As it stands, this is a game that I desperately wanted to enjoy more than I did, but could not bring myself to do.

There’s some neat puzzles here and I appreciate that most of them came in the form of riddles. I wasn’t that big a fan of all the backtracking this game necessitates from its design. The longer it went on the more tired of it I got and I didn’t love this as much as I felt I should have.

Fun little needle game with incredible art and atmosphere. The style is definitely the highlight, this game feels good to look at the whole way through. The one joke section is really funny as well, definitely adds a lot. The needle is a bit uncomfortable in spots but is overall pretty fun.

patterns are super satisfying to do and learning how to deal with the rng feels rewarding
chorus 3 being a little bullshit works well because getting there is really consistent, and getting semi consistent at the chorus itself is also not impossible
