A fantastic engine which sadly doesent work in GMS2 but can be easily edited and fixed! The engine has a lot of gimmicks and scripts and similar and its really good. The trigger system can be complicated, but ist AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC when you learn it. I love it! I also realized that adding objects can be a bit worrying, as there can be something that breaks it, its basically a bit complicated.
With this engine i will 100% create good fangames and i really recommend it! I will also make a GMS2 port eventually, just because GMS1 vanished. (R.I.P.)
Overall, insanely good engine!

This is a pretty solid Needle game that has focus on using water for the design. The vast majority of it feels smooth to play, though you'll need to actually think about what you are doing before jumping. It's pretty short but can still take you a good bit of time to do if you're not used to this style of Needle. I was also a fan of the aesthetic when it came to the non-filled screens, that's always one of my favorite styles since it's much cleaner to look at.

Review and Rating based on All Clear.
Try a Collab is a game where "Variety Hour" is the main theme, there are 90 short levels that comprise multiple different genres, ranging from adventure platforming, needle, bosses, traps, and even some sudoku. Intermixed with this is the fact that the game is intended to also be a funny meme fest. As you can see in the reviews the game is pretty divisive, mainly due to the sequel clearly blowing it out of the water, but I still believe this game is pretty great.
The format of the game is easily the most interesting aspect of it, you have a hub full of levels you can pick from, and unlock more as you finish them. This unlocks various corridors of content sure to give hours of gameplay, and also allows you to skip levels you don't want to do as well. The levels themselves are also split amongst the creators in interesting ways, one will pick the song, another the graphics, whilst a third does the actual level design. Throughout the game are a lot of funny references and jokes that I think adds a unique personality to it, I would say that this almost feels like a sort of Sudoku Collab. A lot of people think the game would be better if it didn't focus on memes and instead on more serious gameplay, but I think this is like asking for an avoidance game to add more needles, you shouldn't walk into a game with expectations that go against the genre of it.
This being said, there are a few obvious issues with the game. This came out in a time when Needle was such a predominant thing that it overrides even a lot of the platforming, trap, and meme stages. You're going to have to do gate jumps and diagonals galore all throughout. I'm personally fine for such since it adds that classic style I always like, but I understand why some people may dislike this. Also, there are multiple bosses that can give incredibly distasteful RNG and become quite tedious, so I'd understand why some people might dislike them as well. Some truly awful segments that I despised however were a Donkey Kong boss with incredibly shitty RNG, as well as a kill-block needle segment made by Piece that feels like garbage to play. There was also a guy rock tile trap stage that also was highly unenjoyable, alongside Electric's Megaman Needle screen which was the worst in the area. I still however think the amount of variety in the game makes it not such a problem, also including the fact you do not have to beat every stage to clear anyways.
Overall, I think Try a Collab is a mighty success in my eyes. A bunch of fellas got together to make some fun times and get a few laughs, and I definitely enjoyed what they put together. I was skeptical from the reviews but after playing through all of the game I would definitely recommend this to people.
