Really good adventure game, with an excellent difficulty curve, starting easy and ending with a final boss quite complicated for my skills. However, I hated Vocaroid a bit but the overall experience was quite fun. Definitely one of my favorite adventure fangames so far and a must play if you like this genre.

This secret santa game was made for me, and yeah I was pleasantly surprised to get a game themed around one of my favorite characters. And yeah this game was fun and had pretty cool visuals
The first screen had some really fun vine needle and is my favorite screen. I played this after clearing qoqoqo 300 ez and it was awesome to play fun vine needle again
The second and third screens were alright too, although the third screen had some funny jumps at the end of the save

Fangames hold a special place in my heart. Over the 5 or so years they have been a part of my life, I've come to realize that no matter what I do, they are not leaving. They're like an old friend I can always come back to, and though there are sometimes several month periods where I don't play them, they'll be waiting for me. I can control the kid, and go in to experience a kind of game I'll never get to see anywhere else. Sometimes I forget that.

While this is ostensibly a review of NANC 2, honestly it is more of a way to publish my own thoughts. When NANC 2 was announced, I wanted to make a stage for it. My stage for the first NANC was actually the first thing I made in gamemaker ever. I remember being really proud of it at the time, and had high expectations for myself. When it came out, I placed at the very bottom of tier 4, or 20th place. I was happy at first, but then I saw people above me, and then I saw reviews which said my stage was just okay. Perhaps my confidence was misplaced. Maybe my stage in fact placed higher than it should have rather than lower. But I kept making things, and with the exception of 2 games, never releasing any of them. I saw NANC 2 as an opportunity to show just how much I had improved at design, but midway through, I started doubting myself, and burnt out as well. I did not finish my stage. It is not in the game. I still regret that a lot, but it's okay.

Whenever I look at the stages in NANC 2, even the ones I do not like very much like some of the tier 1 and 2 stages, at least they made a stage and put themselves out there. They made something, and I did not, so it doesn't feel quite right to judge, especially when every single inch of this game is filled with a shared passion and love for the fangames that mean so much to so many of us. Sometimes I forget why I love these games so much, and this love letter showed me in over 40 different ways why. I love fangames because of that dedication and passion that beats even several commercial games.

Do I think this game is perfect? Well, no. Of course it isn't. A project of this size is bound to be filled with flaws, but I feel like I can forgive those flaws. I'm giving this game a 10 because it reminds me of why I still play these games even 5+ years after discovering them. Thank you for reminding me.
