It's really bad, but if for whatever reason you want to play it, the password is "BAN".

Interesting adventure where you need to collect items that add gimmicks to the platforming, allowing you to progress. It's reminiscent of I wanna fly the Kite, but most items affect the platforming rather than the Kid (It's also a lot less needle-ish). The variety is nice, you never spend too long working with the same gimmick (Thankfully, since the trap sections aren't very good) and the saves feel different from each other.
I'm hardly a fan of the visuals, since the sprites and background don't fit with each other at all. The screen's borders are another problem (Some kill, some are solid and some are paths, and often you don't know which one is what), and I recall some items whose only purpose is to unlock paths you can only reach AFTER getting the item, so it's exactly the same as if there was no item at all. Speaking of borders, even if you ignore the borderkills, there are quite a few saves that make cheap uses of screen transitions, like leaps of faith and placing spikes or other killing objects near the screen's entrance. And finally, because sometimes it's not very clear where you should go, there's the danger of backtracking as well.
It ends with an alright boss. It's fun, not super inventive but definitely not generic either.
I guess I liked it, but just barely. It has an interesting concept, but it's not very well implemented and even if you ignore that, it has some shortcomings that counterbalance its appeals. Not sure if I would recommend.

While I think that the remake itself is a spectacular port, I am not really a fan of the actual level design of kamilia at all. A while back I decided to raise my k2 rating a little as I think I was slightly unfair with the game and wrote the review while I was really mad. The reason behind this is that I realized that stages 1-5 are still very fun to play through, which makes up a majority of the game, so therefore, the rating should be higher. That being said, I think that stages 6 and onwards become some of the worst design levels and bosses in video game history. Gone are the fun but challenging levels and high action yet (mostly) grounded bosses, replaced with horrible gimmicks, backtracks, cruel traps, and awful awful bosses such as destination, crimson, and big kid.
The true standout in the original game is the final boss which takes the crown as the worst boss I have ever played in my entire life. I spent hours of my life on that boss and not a day goes by that I wish I could take that back. I am not rating the final boss in this remake because at the time of this review, I have not seen the remade final boss, and the developer seems to agree with me that the final boss was a disaster, so it was entirely remade. Hopefully its a better boss.
The remake actually smooths over some of the issues that I had with stages 1-5 such as getting rid of 2 frames, and making some of the bosses slightly easier. Yet, as soon as we reach stage 6, the stage that needed nerfs the most, it seems like the developer forgot about nerfs and kept the same level design except for some very small sections. This means that boss rush still has 3 awful bosses! I played the game thinking that this part of the game would be nerfed, but I was obviously wrong.
That being said, the remake itself is fantastic. The game has been painstakingly recreated, and in some cases, enhanced. New features have been added, collectibles have been hidden, and a secret level and boss exist. I am conflicted. How do I rate a game that I enjoy up until the last third until it completely betrays me? Eventually, I decided to rate it based on the percentage of the game that I enjoyed. If I was to suggest playing the game, it would only be until you have beaten the 5th boss, as I see no value in the rest of the game, as it is too difficult for anybody but the most patient people to ever enjoy.

This is like the only fangame where you need to have a classic console in order to play. Neat for the fangame community.

This is a remake of the original Kamila 2 which was released in 2011/2012, and from what I saw, it's pretty promising. It looks identical to the original Kamilia 2 so far but the only change I saw is the fact there is a timer now, and achievements too! Nice! I only made it to the first boss before stopping my first playthrough, I'll continue another time. Anyways, this is convincing and just playing this fills me with nostalgia! Hope to see some new stuff here when I keep playing!

Pretty good older-style beginner-friendly fangame, it is also one of the first fangames I have cleared so personally, this holds a bit of a special place in my heart. The platforming is mostly enjoyable, and even though some of the segments might be questionable (like the moving solid blocks with bad collision order, or, less so, the chickens having random starting direction and as such giving you bad cycles sometimes). The bosses are hit or miss, some of them are alright, there is one that's just straightup annoying (the potato that gets smaller as you hit it and, as such, becomes very obnoxious to hit as well combined with him very often being too high to hit), many are just lacking, having only one or two generic attacks. I liked the final boss though, as well as both of the avoidances included in the game which are straightup epic.
