Rating based on the speedrun version, which reduces floor 92 to 36 gate jumps and nerfs/tweaks several other floors in minor ways.
It's a classic for a reason. The difficulty balance sucks (more like it doesn't exist) and there are more than a few utterly obnoxious saves/jumps here and there, but as far as I'm concerned this is a must-play for any player who wants to explore their limits and see how far raw needle can be taken.
Personally, I found the hardest floors, at least in terms of the time it took me to beat them, to be 80 (6 hours), 100 (~3 hours), and 89 (~3 hours). 78, 79, and 99 were pretty rough on me too, but I wouldn't put them quite at the top. Everyone seems to have a different opinion about what the hardest floor in this game is, so discover it for yourself!!!
