The trap design and challenges are pretty good for novices/beginners. There are a few that may cause you some frustration, such as the puzzle rooms, but other than this, it is definitely worth a try. Definitely go for Medium mode however, since the saves in Hard seem to stop existing at stage 4.

5th game I've beaten! Medium in about 1h22min with 445 deaths!
As a beginner myself, I think this is largely suitable for new players who've played a few games prior, but it should not be a first timer's choice.
It has some difficulty spikes at certain points, mostly due to a few brutal jump sections(especially the one where you need to activate a trigger in the lava section without touching the floor on your way down) & slightly long saves.
For the downsides, it has a couple of bad trial-and-error puzzles where you have to "guess the right path", and early on it has an auto-running level which would feel weird if you're new and expecting to be able to move left/right on your own. The final boss was a bit of a letdown to be honest when compared to the platforming and had very long i-frames.
Overall, I'd still recommend it as a pretty fun mini-adventure for new but not first-time players.

Acceptable if a little too easy level design. Definitely don't play on hard mode, there's a stage with no saves on it that's pretty obnoxious.

The gimmicks are pretty cool but sometimes it's used in an annoying way. The gameplay is enjoyable enough for a run-through. Difficulty isn't needed as it only removes some saves. Not amazing, but still pretty good for a run-through.

I wanna be the Animus is a very fun adventure game with many different worlds filled with fun and unusual gimmicks. If you've played A Written Challenge from Death, you're probably familiar with this guys unique style. Honestly, I could see a beginner having a hard time with this game which is the reason I gave it such a high difficulty score. For average players though, this game won't be a problem.
