Quite honestly, GR is much better than some people may have you believe. Sure, the flaws people mention DO exist: most traps aren't funny or interesting, the bosses are terrible, and the visuals are quite ugly; yet, the game design is much more inventive and interesting than people would think for a Rukito game (this is a take I apply to most all Rukito games). I had a lot of fun with most every save, even when I died to rukito's devious traps.
My personal favorite stages is the final needle tower (which is generic needle, but I found it to be really fun) and the two stages before it.

One of Rukito's earlier works, and a bit more goofy and experimental than what he'd go on to make later. Despite using mostly just the basic tools that come with the engine, he manages to use them in a way that is unique and entertaining (for the most part), especially for when this game was made. The pure needle area at the end of the game has unfortunately not aged as well, but I don't think it's a game ruiner. I'm not too big on the bosses in this one myself, but they're OK for what they are, the first one is mainly just a patience/rng check, and the second is a matter of learning a strat that works.
If you're not a fan of old style adventure or hate traps mixed with needle or learny bosses, I can see why you'd take issue with this. But if you're OK with the aforementioned things like I am, then I'd say this is worth giving a shot.

Most of the needle is fun and memorable with some unique saves here and there. Needle Tower was really fun despite being just usual 32px needle. The only save i probably find unenjoyable is last save before first boss
Bosses were... eeeh. First boss is not that hard of RNG mess, but the second one is tough boy. You can adapt to him quickly, but what you need to do at the very end is insanely hard, since you will need either luck or extremely good multitasking skill to get through this. Boss itself is actually pretty fun to play, even despite it's not obviously executed great and being huge mixed bag

Has unique and experimental platforming that I wish was explored more often in games that take inspiration form this maker. The traps, while being extremely simple, are also still hilarious.
