While it seems primitive in some aspects, I actually had fun with this game, to a degree.

It's not a one-hit death like most fangames. Instead, you have a health bar! And you can restore health by eating certain fruits.

The platforming overall is not terrible, and the health bar makes a lot of the jumps much more tolerable.

Unfortunately, the restarting stock music, the stock sprites, and the blah bosses subtract from the quality of the game. In addition, the fact that the fruit you eat to regain health, and deadly fruit that harms you, are the same sprite (just different sizes.) If improvements were made to each of these aspects, I think this kind of game could be a real gem.

An HP (shown on the window) adventure game very old school that can give a serious challenge in the later stages.

Starts off very simple explaining the gimmick with a little tutorial, before ascending in difficulty. It adds throughout the stages new mechanics or gimmicks while juggling with the amount of HP you get or start with.
Gimmicks can be a one time / stage usage.
Thee are 7 stages in total each with a boss that are pretty easy to understand before the last one, which can be come a serious problem to its shoot mechanism.

There is also a compensation to the HP mechanic, which is each stage has only one save.
Particularly the X-4 stages also have the boss screen counted in, so dying to a boss will also result in a restart of the whole X-4 stage.

The boss of 7-4 really ruined it for me, I have zero idea on what to do and don't plan to come back to this game, huge disappointment.

I can only recommend up to stage 7, as that's where the game really starts to diminish in value.

honestly really really really enjoyed this, i found myself p much laughing throughout at the traps, some of the segments, and even the transition kills and insta deaths from falling off the screen, the insta deaths are unexpected because the hp gives you a sense of security, then you just get owned, and i kinda really like that (if that doesnt sound fun to you probably dont play this game though) also the gameplay was cool too

and i get that there are long segments that might feel bad to die at the end of but like, come on, the game is called i wanna be the long, can you really say long segments are unexpected?!?!?!?!

overall a really charming game, straight up one of my favorites

7 stage adventure game utilizing a hp mechanic, with each stage consisting of 4 platforming rooms (some of which are multiple screens long) and a boss. Made in 2011, it has aged a lot by modern standards, but might still scratch a certain nostalgic itch for many of us.

The platforming is what you'd expect: needle, moving platforms, a lot of cycles and traps with occasional fruit. Towards the later stages, new gimmicks are briefly introduced for 1 room then vanish, and require the player to learn them and adapt on the fly. Those gimmicks were fun to play around and had some interesting ideas, and were the highlight of the game for me. While the jumps themselves are enjoyable and the frustrating effect of ye olde traps and transition kills is much lessened by the HP system, there is a big issue with pacing: There are multiple saves that are several screens long - some of which even span multiple rooms - that end with a very chokey or unfair part. The fact that falling off a platform and outside the screen bypasses HP to kill the player instantly also makes it so that transition checking on platforms is far too risky to do, and will cause near-unavoidable hits. Finally, there are no saves in the boss rooms, meaning that dying to the boss takes you all the way back to screen 4.

As for the bosses, they're very simple, and while some of them have fun attacks (while others are very boring for the most part) the fact that they are fast-moving mash bosses rather than low hp ones with invincibility frames, coupled with the hit sound effect being extremely weak for some reason, makes for a rather unsatisfying fight.

Production value can be summed by the words "megaman+guyrock".

All in all it wasn't actively unfun, it has the old school charm, and it even has some interesting ideas for its time. I can't give it a blanket recommendation, but if you're feeling nostalgic then you should probably check this out.
