For: I wanna be the Crimson Needle
It's really easy to focus on the bad things in this game, but there's undeniably a lot of quality here as well, all with this homemade feel that higher production-value experiences can't replicate.

Weak points:
The water saves (either fun or challenging, never really both), the egregious amount of 16 pixels, and difficulty balance at certain points. Oh yeah, and the intentionally bad floor (92).

Strong-points:
The late game 1 screen saves imo, most of them feel really nice to play for a needle game made in 2014, though I think CN2 has better ones.

This game also has really good song picks, not only are they mostly good songs, but they're also mostly relaxing or up beat, which gives the game a nice, chill vibe.

Would recommend if you can stomach the bad portions.

Not rating 'cause didn't play, but I see some people here stating they understand why the game being made in 2021 would effect how the game runs, and just wanted to share that I don't understand this at all. I made what I'd say is a technologically standard fangame stage (jingle jam lovey stage) 2 years prior

Yeah it has some questionable stuff here and there, but I thought this was a pretty chill experience... until floor 99.

Floor 99 and 100 are long 1 save screens with difficult jumps and traps, not a good mix.

Beyond floor 100, you have the final stage, which I thought was pretty tedious. It has 3 really big needle screens, but once you play for about 10 minutes you realize there are only a couple hard jumps, which normally wouldn't be that big of a deal, but these screens are enormous and it makes for a frustrating experience to spend so long getting to the hard part of the save.

After the final stage, you get the fabled quiz, which just asks you questions about things in the game you probably weren't paying attention to. There's a save between every question so it's just trial & error if you don't know the answer.

"Well, that's good enough for like a 6, so why'd you rate it a 4?"

That's because of one thing, and I'm not spoilering it because I think people should know. There's a softlock I ran into in floor 100, in an engine that has savehack protection... yeah.
