Well...Ugh. I'm a bit surprised, and very disappointed. This is easily the worst Rukito game I've played so far.
It's not too different from the other Rukito games, there are some good parts and there are some bad parts. But there are just way too many terrible parts. To name a few, in Stage 4, the three last saves use a specific kind of water whose transparency is nearly 0. That's right, it's extremely hard to SEE the kid. Now, what kind of game gets hard because it's hard to SEE the kid? But wait, it gets worse. Stage 5's first screen is alright, but the next screens are incredibly tedious. The third save is a trip of boredom through vine jumps with a choke gate at the end, and the last save is even worse, as you need to do a certain overused platform trick to get extra jumps...Lots of times. As a bonus, if you're also disgusted by the gravity flipper gate at Stage 7's first save, you don't need to do it. There's an alternative way, but you'll need to sacrifice the second save. Fun, right? But it's the only other way).
The bosses aren't much better. Both are quite tedious, and the second one is really RNG-based. At least both fights are short, it could be worse (GR comes to the mind).
There are just too many terrible parts, and nothing really worth playing for. Wouldn't recommend.

This game has a TON of interesting ideas, which is sometimes it's downfall. There is very unique platforming throughout and most of it remains very enjoyable and varied. However, at some points it becomes quite frustrating due to difficulty spikes that sometimes feel unfair. One of the highlights of this game for me was the bosses. They are a lot more fair than most rukito bosses, and are actually quite enjoyable. I would certainly reccomend this game if you are interested in any of rukitos works. Erecting and derecting shruikens is ICONIC. Opaque water is good.

More appalling than I was expecting, this unplayable mess of a "needle trap" game has horrendous gimmicks and woeful, uneventful bosses (look at the pics). There is this hilarious water section where each time you progress, the water color gets more intense and, hence, less transparent, making it more difficult to see The Kid and the obstacles; the final insult is when you cannot see him at all. Figuring out a strat for this section is not that hard if you know that you can see the Kid at the corners or while touching a wall, so you can section your strategy by portions instead of doing a completely blind run from save to save. It is still cheap difficulty and an absurd idea.

The barely redeeming quality (and I wouldn't call it as such) is the final stage which actually feels playable and fair, has no traps at the end of difficult saves and makes a neat reference to Capcom vs. SNK 2 (beware with this section though, as it does have a soul-freezing m9 moment).

Run away.

I had way more fun with this one than GR. It's still one of the easier games by Rukito. The first boss was rather easy but the final boss was very difficult mainly due to it's RNG. The latter part of the water section was an horrible idea though. The further you'll go, the worse the opacity gets. Eventually you barely can see The Kid at all. I had to use Paint + fill and making my brightness level higher so that I could see where I was going. Also, in the folder for the game there's an .zip file called omake, which contains an bonus game: I wanna be the ポンコツ. It has an password and you'll need to find an secret room in order to get the password. It's in the area with the camouflage background, in the second room at the save at the top.

For me it was very fun, even the "impossible to see through" water, mainly because the design of that room makes it not as bad as it sounds. Also, plenty of vine jumps, gravity inverters, spike traps and moving apples are involved, for me that was a plus, but these could turn some people off. The bosses are fun and quick, the last boss is a bit RNG-heavy, but can be manipulated in a way to make him a lot easier to kill. Overall, if you don't mind the things I mentioned (and you're fairly experienced with needle), then you should totally play this. Personally, the only issue I had was the fact that the warp room that you unlock at the end of the game is hard to navigate.
