The platforming is so great I'd love to do it three, or even four times...said no one ever. Well actually one person said this, the creator. There is an enormous amount of backtracking in this game. In this very long fangame it probably accounts for about 25% of it's length. Think I'm kidding? Well, there is a point in the game where you replay 10 previous maps, most of which you have already completed two times. Immediately after you complete these maps the game says "Cool, now do the same exact thing with 7 or less deaths" (I actually gave the game +5 more in difficulty than I would have originally only because of this part).

The reason I am somewhat conflicted with this review is that even though there is so much backtracking, some areas actually have very good platforming and gimmicks, which are great for teaching the basics. Unfortunately, at the same time there are an equal number of gimmicks that are poorly executed (looking at you bubble). The bosses are all fairly meh, with only the last one being memorable.

Overall, I can't say I would recommend this fangame to everyone, but if you can deal with the constant backtracking, meh bosses, and just want a good launching pad into the basics of platforming you may enjoy it.

Fangame Clear #34

At first I surprised myself on why I exactly ranked this so high. It has a lot of gimmicks that boil down to waiting, an annoying amount of backtracking, some very annoying bosses, some super annoying gimmicks and rooms, and I could really go on.

The fact of the matter is, the sheer creativity and scale of this older game is the sole thing that saves this from being a miserable experience. Chances are if you don't like something earlier in the game, there WILL be something later that you will love. This is more of an adventure than anything else I have played up to this point, it truly is a journey and you must roll with the punches in order to truly take this game for what it is: a moshpit of creative ideas strung together into an experience that is different from many of its time. Not to mention the final boss, which is just iconic and quite fun to boot.

You may not like every section in this game, hell you may not like most sections, but there will be something you will like in here, I promise.

Good game. However, I think there are fewer traps.

Fun adventure experience that starts as an open world adventure and ends as a more linear experience that ties everything together. While it's definitely flawed in some aspects, I think it's one of the more fun adventure games of this difficulty, which is very impressive considering how long it is, there was a lot of potential to just get boring, but there's a lot of cool ideas here which I enjoyed. The final two bosses have a bit of learning curve, but if you learn them they aren't too challenging. Also the traps weren't that bad, I didn't find them annoying and some were a bit funny.
