The game is fun, but oh my god does the difficulty rise to insanity in the end.
I was enjoying the game up until world 5 where the difficulty starts to get to me. It features a lot of really precise platforming, while not innovating on anything else. After failing multiple times, I started to get angry. I wanted to reach the boss, since I like avoidance, but this was going to take forever. Then I did it.

Like an absolute madlad, I opened up bandicam, turned on lock framerate and prayed to god for forgiveness. With 20 FPS and the game running less than half as fast as it should have, I managed to reach the final save. Then I spent about an hour and a half trying to beat that, ending in rage quitting after choking on the 16 pixel spike gap at the end.

Then a month later, I returned, eager to try again, and I got through it in 20 minutes. I'm still trying to beat the avoidance.

I think the game has it's strength and weaknesses. The needle issometimes fun, but it becomes a lot more frustrating and tedious in the end. Maybe I'm just bad at these games, but there's nothing making me want to go through the levels, no interesting mechanics or gimmicks and the level design isn't good enough to compensate for that.
The last save is a special offender since it's basically just one very precise jump that really ruins my experience with the game. It's really not fun, and the game would a lot better, if it were replaced with something else.

The only reason I continued with the game was to experience the avoidance part of the game, which is good. The fight is really long and filled with learn heavy patterns and stupid RNG, but besides that, it was really fun and looked great as well. It's one of the better avoidance bosses I've seen. There seems to be a lot of care put into it and I wasn't disappointed when I finally reached it.

The game has a lot of inconsistensy in terms of it's look, the first couple of stages look awful and bland, but stage 5 and 6 have some really nice effects and great music. It almost feels like a medley game with all the different art styles and I don't think it compliments the game.

Clear except the avoidance.

This is a game I feel like I should dislike, as the needle is simplistic with a lot of named jump (plus corner spam) and the first two stages are just needle so easy you can probably get past stage 1 deathless, but somehow I still enjoyed it. Thanks in part to the great music, I didn't mind sitting down and beating the game. That said, I have one major issue that I really can't overlook: The last save is BALLS hard. Way harder than the rest of the needle. I spent 2 hours getting to the last save and then 2 hours beating it, and if I had choked at the 16px a few times, that could easily be 4, 5, 6 hours. The save isn't particularly fun, either, it's just really precise. A huge, unfun difficulty spike that takes as long as the rest of the needle combined. No, thank you. The screen became legendary and is really popular, so I don't know if I can really criticize it too much, but personally, I just did not have fun with it.

As for the avoidance, I'm not an avoidance guy, so I didn't even play it for more than a few minutes. I would definitely get frustrated with the sphere and its general length, but I won't dock off points for it because avoidances are not for me.

P.S. The outline kid sprite flashes back to normal kid sprite for one frame every time the kid double jumps, and it's actually pretty distracting. Nothing major, but not a positive thing.

The very first fangame I have ever played. It is really good, starting easy and reaching a really hard level at the end. the last screen seems impossible for me right now haha, i died so often and still can't beat it. I obviously can't tell anything about the boss since I never reached it. The music is awesome btw.

Disclaimer: I've only cleared the platforming. Frustrated and don't feel like grinding the final boss fight any longer than I already have at the moment but I'll update the review whenever to encompass my thoughts on her whenever I inevitably do get the motivation to beat it.

Generally well paced game with some pretty hard jumps throughout. A lot of it is extremely generic named jumps that it doesn't really do anything interesting with, but I enjoy this kind of thing from time to time so I had a good time with it. A lot of parts of this game functioned as a kind of skill test for me, and it was cool to see that I have indeed leveled up enough to be able to clear a lot of jumps that used to look impossible.

The final save is probably the hardest thing I've pulled off to date and it is not exactly for good reasons, I was not a fan of this save AT ALL and I'm extremely lucky that I first tried the second half of it when I got there since it took me nearly two hours to get the rejump right on the drop. I bumped my difficulty rating up a solid 10 points because of this save alone.

Also the visuals are pretty sick throughout and the last stage is a nice visual treat. Though. one thing that is a MAJOR negative in a game like this is the fact that the touch saves used in this area do not preserve align. Literally why?
