Finally a real fangame that makes you remember why you started playing these games in the first place. I'd expect no less from 2 of the most talented makers in the community, and this game reaches the high bar of value I expect from these guys. It has the heavy 8-bit retro influence as the game is themed around Megaman. Great production that recaptures the nostalgia with a difficulty that smooth and simple minus one of the bosses. It even has a great coming of age story that is sure you put a smile on your face.

Borring all the way is the best way to describe my feelings toward this game.
It's heavily inspired by megaman old games, with 3 stages you can do in any order then 2 linear ones. Each stage has a boss at the end and when you defeat one, you get a new power-up like the og games. My huge problem with the game is that 99% of the level design is based on ennemies, there is no real platforming nor gimmmicks and it makes the game sooooooo borring, it's like there is no gameplay. Bosses aren't really better, with litterally each of them following "pattern 1 into pattern 2 into pattern 3 and repeat", the last two especially are really bad (and the last boss being again ronald mcdonald is really weird and feel totally out of place). The power-ups you unlock are also really useless I honestly tried to use them but they are less efficient than normal bullet. You don't really wanna use them anyway since ammo limitation persist on respawn, which is a very weird choice because if you wanna use one on a boss, you basicaly have one try. The story wasn't very funny and ends in a very dumb way.

In the end, it wasn't a catatrophe but I didn't had a lot of fun and was preying for the end to come soon. Maybe if you are a huge fan of megaman games you can enjoy it but otherwise, I recommend you to pass on this one.

Truthfully its a very well built game and the design is mostly consistent and production is solid.

However I didn't really enjoy it, the design managed to not only hit every one of my pet peeves but throw a reasonable level of focus around it - though those aspects don't inherently make the game bad. That and one of the things I liked seeing (multiple weapons) felt pointless due to the bizarre choice to make an ammo limitation that persists through restarts. Attempting to try out a special power on a boss was all great until you make one mistake and no longer have the ammunition to do it again. Perhaps they weren't intended for the boss (and there's no real need for them, though it would've been more fun to be play with) but nonetheless.

Part of the issue seems to be that aspects of it seemed a little rushed - keep in mind the contest format, so this is under time constraint - and while its still a solid game, if they choose to polish up a few parts of the game it'd be much improved (particularly the last two bosses felt really rushed) and I have no doubt if they choose to, they're capable of making this game excellent.

Oh boy I am not a fan of this game. While most fangames take assets and ideas from multiple different games or strike out on their own, this takes heavy inspiration from the Megaman franchise. "So what?" you might ask, so did the original IWBTG. Yeah, but when I say "takes inspiration" I actually mean "is basically a Megaman fangame".

All of the aesthetics are dreary and, soundtrack is annoying, and the problems of Megaman (notably endlessly respawning enemies that you often need to button mash to get through) are very much on display. There's a mechanic that gives you the weapon/ammunition from bosses you beat, which can be used in later levels. Only problem is that any ammo you used is lost upon restarting, which during boss fights that don't have ammo drops basically means you have one chance to use them and beat the boss before losing the opportunity completely.

Beyond that, the final boss is random and aggravating, the cutscene at the end is vulgar and comes out of no where, and the one-notednesss of the gameplay is boring, plain and simple. Easily my least favourite experience in fangaming.
