This game is incredible, top to bottom. Some of my favourite traps I've seen in a fangame, fantastic and beautiful looking bosses, and some very fun unique mechanics (I especially liked the gears in the final stage). This is everything an adventure game should be.

Troll King is a fantastic adventure game, as expected from Mattin who's built up a very high quality portfolio of games now. This is no exception, and the whole package from the level design to the production value is top notch.
Each stage in the game has a unique atmosphere and theme, making it feel like a proper adventure as if you're visiting different parts of a world. The hazards and gimmicks thrown at you always feel fitting and well designed to the point that they never get frustrating, even if the odd save feels like a bit of a bump in difficulty. There are some puzzle-related segments but they felt fairly simple and straightforward, so there's no galaxy-brain requirement in this case.
The bosses in particular are great, and a couple of them blew me away with their production value and overall visual design, the water-boat boss especially so. There were a couple of spots where attacks felt a bit unclear, namely the attack in Sagat where he shows a trail of where he's going to move forward and it seems like there are numerous safespots, but the actual intended way of dodging it involves dodging away from him completely. Despite some minor hiccups, the bosses always felt fun for me.
There's also sort of a gauntlet at the end where you go through a series of unrelated rooms/segments which makes for a nice bag of variety before the ending boss. Naturally with such a selection of varied segments, some are going to be more enjoyable than others. One of them had a very unclear path past a trap which caused a great deal of confusion, although was amusing when I realised.
Overall just a great game. As always, I look forward to Mattin's next creation!

Another fantastic production from Mattin with a little more classic fangame feel than his other works.
Production is great throughout, the two parts standing out to me being his continually great implementation of well executed, detailed backgrounds and a good use of sound effects.
The real highlight of this game for me was the platforming. There's an immense amount of variety, with essentially a new gimmick every other screen/save, if not more often. They'll cycle in and out and he'll match certain aspects together creating a great feel where you're always encountering something different, but fair enough that you're not getting stalled by it.
The bosses are the weak point of the game, but they're by no means bad. They fit the difficulty very well and are incredibly well produced. The drawback being they are very formulaic. Its a proven formula, and again by no means bad, but they end up feeling kind of the same because of it. There's also some cool depths effects that look neat, but play a little strange. Still, the fights are very fair and still interesting.
Overall, this is a game that's worth your time with great design, production and exemplary platforming and very accessible to all skill levels - newer players will find plenty of interesting challenges but shouldn't get stuck and experienced players will encounter enough new things to tackle that they won't just breeze through and be bored.

Finally this game came out. It's an sweet adventure game mainly focused on traps (though the amount of traps decrease slightly towards the end of the game) and all of them were well executed. The bosses were really fun to fight and there were a lot of good music choices. I would say that the final boss is a bit difficult compared to the others mainly because it's rather long and there's no checkpoint inbetween.
There's also an optional puzzle at the end of the game where you have to crack an code by shooting four magic balls. The code is hinted at the first stage of the game and it is what the rupees are used for. If you crack the code you'll get to an shopkeeper which sells you two items: An gun and an shield. I don't know how to activate them really, and I only went for this part after I've cleared the game.
MattinJ worked really hard on this one, and all that work paid out well. I would definitely recommend this game if you are into trap fangames.
