Travel the Night is Erik's sequel to a previous game of his, I wanna End my Growth. It thus has some of the same features such as hand-drawn graphics, Cuphead-inspired bosses, and returning characters.

The game is pretty solid and has a beautiful coat of paint over it, pretty much the entire game is made using custom sprites by Erik. The platforming is pretty simple and generally smooth, a lot of it includes an enemy-based design that features both ones you can shoot and ones you can't. These enemies have a bit of variance through them, and I liked all of them except the one square head robot since jumping over square killers is always obnoxious.

I do however feel as if this is somewhat a downgrade from End my Growth. First, the entire size gimmick has been removed, which is quite a shame since it leads to a less interesting game overall. Platforming thus feels far less involved than the first game, instead of worrying about your kid size there is no puzzle aspect at all really. The bosses feel like a huge pitfall from the first as well, with many of them having way too much HP to be enjoyable, they just become boring pretty quickly instead. The ocean boss was particularly one that became annoying to play, though the second phase was much more bearable.

Overall I would definitely recommend it, it's a solid adventure game that many will enjoy, just know it's probably a bit of a lesser experience than the first.

End My Growth's successor, spiritually and plotwise. You can't go wrong with Erik's distinguishable style and nonstop Cuphead inspiration. Level design is nice, the platforming is average at best and scenarios are recycled and predictable; a couple are even re-used. Bosses are not as exciting as previous ones, and the final boss is also anticlimactic. Also, no new power-ups or abilities :(

That is my list of complaints, and this comes from great previous games that Erik made. It makes me seem I have no heart, but this was entertaining for counted instances, while they lasted. However, improvement can be done definitely. Erik has showed that in the past, so this has to unfortunately bear the shadows of previous games like Classic Adventure, End My Growth and Blocktroid 1 & 2.

Very well-produced, relatively short adventure game. The art and music are both fantastic. The platforming is focused around fairly long saves, but there are no particularly tough jumps, so it never becomes overwhelming even for relatively new players, or so I imagine. There's a ton of bosses and they're all fun, with some particular standout ones near the end.

Another game by Erik and by far the best for me. Every boss is fun and like always the visuals are astonishing. If I had to complain, I would say that I didn't like pyramid music and some stage felt too short but otherwise, this is really a great game.
